Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I knew the first one was a mistake from the get-go. We were young (21), in college, from different cultures and I had learned things in the 4 years we dated that seriously concerned me. We got engaged at high school graduation and my mom went into ballistic overdrive making all the dresses and fussing about the wedding plans. I was chicken to tell her I had serious reservations. She would have been mortified at how it "looked" to call off an engagement and she would have complained about all the time and $$ she'd spent on the preparations.
I bought a date with Mr. Baby at a bachelor auction for $200. I admire and respect every fiber of his being -- when I met him and to this day. That has never waivered so perhaps "respect" is the basis of a soulmate. While he is not particularly sophisticated, but he is the salt of the earth down to his DNA. He never went to college and actually has never received a paycheck in his life -- always worked as a self-employed farmer. Maybe his plainness balances my colorfulness. Whatever -- we're a great team!
Neither is love hormonal, but it is an expression of physical, emotional, and spiritual love. It is something that God or the Universe established on a much higher scale than most people can see or feel. Anything less than that is mere companionship. However, I have come to realize that people experience love as far as their soul will let them.
For some people companionship is enough, but others have a far deeper bond with themselves, the Universe, and those they love.
