I've been singing for the last two weeks but for a different reason. My pdoc added Abilify to my combo and I sing all the time. I even sing things to my family I want them to do. I told my neighbor my family is basically in a musical where I suddenly and frequently break into song.

When I am manic I sing whatever won't leave my brain. When I am depressed I pull out old bugs bunny cartoons and sing "Kill the Wabbit."

Works for me.

I always find myself going back to "the avenue" when I am really sad. even though it makes me cry.

and silly me goes for "I can't stand no broke man" or "kelly ripa"

but lately "rolling in the deep" keeps following me around by other people's radios..it's kinda eery in a way. somone was even listening to it at starbucks.

When sad, I sing ALL BY MYSELF

When manic I sing PEOPLE ARE STRANGE (The Doors)

Very few who are weeping can sing very well at the time. Off-key would be Expected under those circumstances.

Singing with abandon pulls me out of almost Anything, but when depressed I find it hard to Start; I hear you.

I used to sing beautifully. People would try to recruit me to sing at functions.
Since the Bipolar hit, I can't sing at all. Just one more thing it has robbed from me.
Be glad that you still have the ability most of the time!!! (At least, I HOPE that you're happy and in control of your voice most of the time.)
I lost the ability to sing completely, no matter what my mood.

It's a sure sign I'm hypomanic if i start singing or humming tunes. Normally i don't do this kind of stuff.

i'm a musician too, and spend a lot of time singing off-key. haha
when i'm bummed, it comes from the gut and isn't so much about key and range.
