Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Has anyone else seen it? i watched it last night and I kind of wish I didn't. Anytime I watch a video about someone with bipolar disorder it hurts my heart. It's almost a trigger. Strange. I wish this on no one.

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

Some people really liked it , some , not so much.
I have yet to see it , so I can't speak to how it portrays the mentally ill.
But , yeah, some movies about mental illness trigger me too
Just don't know....
Loved that it was nominated best film. We have arrived mofos..
I think it hit some nerves.. but not enough for me to dislike any of it.. it is finally a shining pinnacle of respect toward BP.. not the wrist slicing or manic fucknut of some other movies I have seen. for me this was a day in the life.. not wayyyyy out there like some of the others.
For me a beautiful mind was still one of my favorites as sad as it was. Just watched One Who Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. Oh how I have lived that life! Lovely Florida State Hosp!! Oy. At 15 I just sat there like holy crap..... but with that met some very nice people.
I want to see Girl Interrupted- anyone see it? Worth a look?
"It's funny because it's true!"
LOL!!! I could relate to a lot of it!!
But I hated the ending.
All the way through the movie I kept thinking 'please don't let it end that way -- please don't let it end that way'!!!
But it did.
Predictable, schmaltzy, unlikely and a cop out.
Reduced it to the level of a made-for-TV 'Lifetime' sort of movie.
And not a very good one, at that.
But I get that for a lot of people with Bipolar Disorder find this to be a hard watch.
While I myself tend to laugh when I see Bipolar Disorder being portrayed in movies -- when it comes to Autism (which my son has), it's a different story!!!!
It took me 5 years to watch Rainman and I could barely sit through it and I never, ever, ever want to see it again!!!!!
I found this when looking for the "i am a suicidal girl who throws away my relationship with awesome guy who likes me" movie.. couldnt find the one i was looking for but here is the mother list of all things mental :)
