Ehhhhhhh I went to my friend's house on Saturday.... he told me his roommate was sick. I talked to this roommate for like 10 seconds and was nowhere near this kid.
We got so wasted ehhhhh. Questionable things followed but I'm not going to want to talk about any of that for a while, if at all. I really love my mind's ability to compartmentalize, above everything else.
Before either of us were too trashed, I noticed some bloodied tissues in the bathroom trash can? And so I asked my friend "hey why are there bloody tissues in the trash? l:" and he said "That's a good question. I've been wondering that for a long time. And by 'a long time' I mean since yesterday looool" *ok we might've been a little messed up considering us laughing at each other's bad jokes*
So uh I guess the long and short of it is I started noticing my throat hurting like hell suddenly in my Early Childhood Care and Education class on Monday. It got worse monday night, I had fever dreams and woke up this morning with a 101 degree fever. I swear my throat's either on fire or bleeding, and I wake up with (this is gross lol) my nasal passages swollen and clogged, and when I blow my nose there is, LO AND BEHOLD, super bloody mucus. Recall the bathroom trash tissues.
Ughhhh. I don't want to go to the ER ehhh. I don't have a lot of money left, and I really don't think I could manage another doctor visit. The cheapest is like $60 which I don't even sneeze at *pun not intended* when I have cash on me, but otherwise it seems like a monumentous price.

I'm feeling down,, and got alot on my mind right now. I got grief going on, on top my depression and anxiety and now I got to worry about somewhere to live since I can't afford living here since my mom passed. rub Vicks on my chest and cover with a wool cloth then wrap another wool cloth around my throat, even put Vicks up my nose. Drank lots of juice and thin soup and managed to survive.
It's good to remember that some infections like measles are airborne and if you're around them you're infected immediately.

There's an anti-vaxxing crisis here in the states right now (can't remember if you live in the US or not?) because people want to like.... exercise their right to not protect their children.... or something.
So we're seeing a re-emergence of things like Measles actually I think.
But this guy was at least 20, my age or so, so I dunno, he's probably been vaccinated against major illnesses.
You gave me an idea, though. Maybe I should start by searching what illnesses are airbourne. Thanks again, Tomms.
I agree with Tommy that Vicks works great. Another thing that works is taking a hot shower. Getting out of the shower and going into somewhere cold. I know it sounds crazy but it does work.

If you were at your friends house...you touched door knobs, walls, kitchen handles...you could have picked up this bug from anywhere in that apartment ..... doesn't matter if you spent time with the sick friend or not.
The Vicks works well, steamy showers...gargle with a warm salt water gargle.
As long as your temp stays down around 100 101 , you should be fine.
If your temp spikes to 103... that's the time to go to ER or the Dr's ASAP

For a sore throat I swear by ACV (apple cider vinegar) take a big Tablespoon and it's gonna be hell but drink it as fast as you can. It really makes my throat slick making hurt less. If you can't handle taking it by itself drink it in a cup of green tea and sip on it.
We have an "outbreak" of strep throat at my son's school - not fun. He got it and was just plain miserable :(
For some odd reason, and a complete mystery, neither my husband nor I got ill and I usually catch strep like I'm bathing in it. Yay to good immune systems!
Most virus's are airborne. Colds, flu, etc. Desi is right that an antibiotic will not help. However, if you have flu they can give you Tamiflu to reduce the severity and duration of it.
Voltaire, I just got over pneumonia but I never had any bloody tissues. That is a concern for me. Snot, even green snot I can understand. Bloody snot, not so much.
