my pdoc switched me to abilify 3weeks ago 20mg and i still am just a little manic. she wants me to go up to 30mg and get more towards normal. i like being a little manic should i let her bring me down is normal all that great. iwouldn't get near as much done.

is your "just a little manic" like hypomania, or are you experiencing any symptoms of psychosis?

I say go up, until you don't feel right then try and convince the PDoc to take you back a notch in meds. Even my PDoc asked me I wanted to be balanced in a hypomanic state... he said it's normal for us.

BUT Alicia has a good point... mania or psychosis???

I've been living in hypomania, you just have to be really careful and WATCH yourself for changes (better yet have someone watching you too) because I slipped right into Mania without realizing it.

Just make sure you follow your pdocs advice a good while before your next appointment.

I understand completely. I walk a fine line between feeling lethargic or slightly manic....I choose the manic! I was supposed to see my pdoc, last Monday, because I lowered my trileptal from 900mg a day to 750 (without consulting him) (my tdoc ratted on me)
But, for me, the difference is remarkable! No more mind mud-walking! And I'm not out of control manic..just a little more than the average joe.
