Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Do you ever like... become obsessed with one thing, then the next day/week/month/year something entirely else????????
2 years ago I got a couple pairs of these absolutely gorgeous Vivienne Westwood coloured pvc wedges, and loved shoes. Idk. I feel like it kind of messes with my agender cred because it's "such a girl thing" Idk but who really cares right???
Anyway I stopped giving a flip about shoes after that and haven't for at least a year, probably more. Recently it was perfume and fragrance. I might be getting some money soon I dunno? I was planning to buy some perfume. I mean, pretty expensive shit, in general, and the ones I was looking at, because I'm incredibly picky.
I went out to a restaurant (Dave and Busters to be precise) with my friend and his friends and sisters for his birthday, and I wore my 6 inch ish stilettos and... towered over everybody? I walked into the crowded game and arcade room which was HUGE (this was the one at the state mall) to use the bathroom because it was in there (also huge)- and I towered over EVERYBODY. Especially other females. I was like "What the fuuuuuuuck?" because it's typically the opposite, I'm just a little bitty shrimp in a sea of tall goddesses.
But I felt like a giantess, some kind of fantasy creature goddess, and I was drunk on this power. I then remembered it was the stilettos, which also looked gigantic on my itty bitty feet. I kind of had this moment and now suddenly I care about them, and haven't thought about wearing or buying perfume at all hahahaha.
Oh my god I dread to think if I got a weekly or monthly paycheck. The cheap wad in me who grew up poor and is still mentally poor regardless of current situation cannot justify blowing loads of cash on any one thing, but my impulsive drunk-on-power bipolar self has before.... and will again, I'm sure.
Oh well. Guess I can't complain. It's pretty cool to be so momentarily overcome. Some say money is a shallow thing, things are a shallow thing, but.... they can't hurt you, or let you down, and right now my trust is wounded. Lol.
Anyone else experience similar shopping compulsions?????
I used to have impulses for lingerie also loooooool. Not my thing right now though.
On an off note I think I'm getting a slight improvement from the Zyprexa.

Here is my new brother, copper :) He's so tiny! Moo and Tuck were ok with him on first meeting. Rocket due to his severe aggression will never meet Cooper.

I put my foot down on myself....but it could be just one side of my bipolar disorder.........not sure which side tho
As long as it doesn't get you into financial trouble enjoy sweetie...x
Not that men don't do it too but I think most of there's is with big toys and things such as video games and tech devices.
My thing is books. I get lots of them from thrift shops but there is always that one book I just can't wait to read so off on amazon I go!! Then I wanna kick myself. It's not like I ever read the same book twice!!
I also have a closet full of bath and body works stuff that's not opened. And don't get me started on yankee candles. Of course this all caused me to rack up credit card debt and unfortunately I'm in the process of claiming bankrupcty because I'm not able to work.
I'm working with my t doc to not beat myself up over it. I feel so materialistic when I look around my house and that's just not me.
I wonder what my next obsessive spending spree will be on??
I was cleaning out my back closet and counted 19 pair of jeans in that closet and ten in my front closet, I could wear a pair everyday without washing them.
I am a hobbiest photographer, so I now buy lots of camera things...external flashes, mounts, etc... I often spend more than I make.
Guys also have shopping "kicks" lol
Heretic- I know the feelin'. 99 times out of 100, I don't. But when I do, I usually do the whole "buy the same thing in 5 colours" thing ehhh...
Joneszy- I think I drained a lot of my free money when I had it to blow (OR not blow and invest slowly and wisely) on slushies. I always bought those. And fancy tea. But a slushie every morning before school to get a sugar kick, and because they're delicious.
Desi- ....xD I don't know anybody who buys music. Download it off four share, yo. I think it's only illegal if you obtain it that way, and then sell it to others, but who honestly does that???
I mean. Don't quote me on that. Like I said. Pretty sure.
You mean like Hermes the luxury brand???? Woah. They're mega pricy.
Kat- I used to buy bags. Well. Really just one. A Betsey Johnson cobalt one. Not now though. I need a nice, plain black backpack.
Alice- You actually stopped yourself? Wow. Well that's great! A little self control never hurt. But you got to live a little too, y'know. (:
Jewelry, a couple of you said? Jewelry racks up money pretty quick. l: Well... real jewelry. I spent $60 or something like that at Claires once back when I thought costume jewelry was cute.
Collars are lovely, though. I don't wear mine anymore because I think it's too wide and makes my face look fat, but it was very expensive and has lambskin inside and an O ring.
Aren't those Pandoras like upwards of $20 a bead???? I see them advertised in magazines a lot.
Try Etsy instead. Look up 'charm bracelets' and see if there's any you like before you blow hundreds of dollars per charm. :x Just an idea heh. I used to use Etsy. They have literally everything. It's like Ebay, but with stuff people make. It's like the deviant art of various items. A lot of it's crappy arts-and-crafts projects, but there's some really good stuff there too. Including a TON of jewelry.
Chris- Nothin' wrong with that, lol.
Watches can look very nice. I sort of want a Rolex, but also no part of me expects that to ever happen. I could get a car, or at least a motorbike with that money.
