Seroquel is my magic weapon. I've been on it my whole diagnosis. I think it's always been a mood stabilizer as it's an atypical antipsychotic. There is now a generic out for it too! Cheaper! I take 600 mg. At the higher doses it is supposedly more effective as a mood stabilizer, but they have to bring you up really really slowly because otherwise you'll sleep for a week. :)

I started Seraquel a few days ago.
Experienced uncontrolable facial movements,and a great deal of dizzyness.
I don't think this med has been on the market for very long.
I can't tell if it's helping,because I'm also in withdrawl from other meds...and have a new transdermal anti-depressant...
I don't know if I'm coming or going.
Nothing new there!
I haven't experienced the weight gain that Seraquel is infamous for.
But I guess time will tell,wheather it's helping.I see my pdoc later this week,to decied if I will continue w the Seraquel.
The dizzyness is keeping me homebound...can't drive when the road looks like it's waving up and down.
Good luck to you, I know a lot of people take it ,and find it very helpfull controling manic episodes.I think that's what it's used for?

Seraquel has been on the market for a while DGD......I know it has been out at least since 1999 and that to me is a long time

dancing....I am also sorry that seraquel is having that effect on you. How much are you taking?

Seroquel was Rx'd to me as an anti-psychotic...for "hallucinations" (I felt like I was crawling out of my skin (bugs) and I thought I smelled bad). I didn't like it much.

i took it for a couple of years and it worked well as a mood stabolizer but i stopped because it made me so hyper and i couldnt sleep

Seroqual and Cymbalta made me able to survive and thrive

thank you all for your different interpretations I am glad it helped you guys and I am sorry for the ones who had a bad experience. I just wanted to hear about how long it's been used as a stabilizer and from what you all said I am sure a long time. Thanks! It really helped my perception of it and my illness a little bit.

on a side note. I thought I was supposed to only take the 100 at night and not take the 25 in the morning...but i tried it today and I got anxious in the morning....anyhow I am now supposed to take not 100 but 125. I hope that takes care of my anxieties and helps me sleep better!
