Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

October:
1. Had to put down one of my three cats unexpectedly. I felt terrible that I didn't realize how sick he was until it was too late for me to help him.
November:
2. Chased a theif out of Walgreens when he ran right behind me when my grandson was with me. Left my grandson at the counter for less than 30" - closer to 15" with several customers and the checker. I now realize it was largely a PTSD reaction. A big reason also. that I did it was because this Walgreens is one I have been going to for many years, so it was a place that is very familiar to me. I know, not a good idea to leave him there anyway. But when PTSD takes over you don't have control. I am now banned from babysitting my grandson.
3. Cat #2 that has been sick with a cancerous tumor started going downhill fast. Her tumor started growing aggressively and needing to be cleaned daily. Anticipatory grief pain became overwhelming and constant.
December:
4. Emailed Dr. Phil about my undecipherable family situation and got a response from CBS a couple of emails back and forth later, and they disappear. Would have been nice to get my last one answered about what is going to happen next. Oh, well...
5. Grandson's birthday on 12/21 and Christmas a wash. Then my daughter's birthday that ended when she opened my gift I had picked out with care something I thought she would really enjoy. She halfway opened it with disdain and dropped it on the floor telling me she was tired of presents. I left crushed. A bus ride that took me over an hour to get to her house each way.
January/February:
6. Meanwhile, my cat #2's condition continues to decline. She is 15 years old and I am excruciatingly deciding each day whether or not to put her down. Finally on 2/22 I made my decision. I am somewhat better now but I know I will never fully "recover" from losing her, much less, in that way.
7. Don't even care if I left a misspelled word uncorrected. Normally that would drive me nuts.
Now, I am left still trying to pay off a debt I incurred upon myself when I decided at the beginning of 2015 that it was going to be "my" year. Apparently it had been a very long time since I made space for my own self, which turned out to not be a good idea. I am very slowly making headway though. All the while life has been handing me all the usual S-*-*-T. Much like my cat I can only watch my own condition deteriorate with no help from any of my grown children. Or anyone else for that matter. My daughter has moved even farther away so now it is an almost two-hour ride each way and several blocks to walk to her house. None of any of that phases her.
So now, cat #3, cat#2's brother, of course also 15 years old, and I spend a very large part of our day in my recliner. We are now recliner-potatoes. At this point, it is the best I can do.
Where am I? That's a good question.

I've managed to reply to one post here, and then another post in the anxiety group, telling someone to go Join the anxiety group (I thought I was in Here).
Then I typed an apology for the spaced-out recommendation on the post. I typed it on the Wrong post, however!
Gah.
It's the little things.
Jan - I still haven't got a proper med regime going as my pdoc is lost in grief about his son so i feel i cannot bother him. we had dinner last week but we mostly talked about his loss. my gp is generally unavailable. I am down to one xanax/day usually along with vitamin D3, spirolina and i take arcoxia for the fibro. i hit lows every evening about 5 - 7 and then fight suicidal ideation most nights but I keep giving myself small targets to live towards and so far am still here!
thank goodness for DS - it continues to be a wonderful place to be.
I love hearing from everyone so it is good to see so many replies. hugs to all! we'll just keep on keeping on and see where it takes us...
My husband and I bought a new car today...a big moment for is both...so many things to adjust!
It's fun! That's been the goal of the week to just have fun!
irishwriter: I'm glad you started this post - even if there's posts with not-so-great news. I'm always wondering who's around and what everyone is up to. Cheers and hugs to you!
Hope everyone has a good Monday!
