Re diagnosed as Bipolar yesterday it went from depression to cyclothymia to bipolar II to schizophrenia back to bipolar, the psych i saw said i was definitely Bipolar and not schizophrenic, she said the psychosis i experienced was due to extreme stress and it was my bodys way of coping and as i had them when depressed it was part of bipolar depressions.
I kinda knew that the diagnosis of schizophrenia was wrong, just had to wait for a compentant pdoc to notice the error.
Been given Valium to help with mania as i cant go on mood stabilzers or anti psychotics due to trying to get pregnant, my pdoc didnt want me on anything other than prozac and valium as they are safer for pregnancy.

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!

I am trying to get pregnant and over here in the uk i dont know about how else in the world, they will not give women trying to get pregnant mood stabilisers, i know i can go on anti psychotics but im doing ok without them right now, and dont particulary want to have the weight associated with it.
If you still believe im a liar, when i get my letter through stating my diagnosis i will scan it and stick it online for everyone to see.
I DO NOT LIE! WHY WOULD I WANT TO LIE ABOUT HAVING A MENTAL ILLNESS!
Also Lamictal is shown in studies to be safe (just take extra folic acid) the rate of birth defects I believe was 2-4% (maybe it is .2-.4%) as opposed to the general population which is 3% (If it is .2 - .4 above then this would be .3 - anyways it is comparable to the same as the general population)
Prozac and valium alone? Talk about mania..
That's how I read it.
sorry if i jumped the gun, and thats not the case i assumed that it was.
I know the NHS
Ive been through the system for 4 years now and ive seen ex amount of pdocs due to them being on 3-6 month placements, never got a permenant pdoc until this year, then in march time he went of sick and hasnt come back. There is speculation that he has had a breakdown of some sort either that or its the big C so the pdoc i saw yesterday was his stand in and she read through my notes, and took down how i am at the moment and said I was Bipolar.
Some people in other parts of the country have been prescribed mood stabizers whilst trying to get pregnant but it seems here in soton they dont prescribe them unless its absolutely necessary.
so sorry again for jumping down your throat, bit ratty today, sorry
A word about those stand ins too. They are full of shit. I complained straight away when one of them accused me of not taking my meds BECAUSE I am BP they said.. It sent me all doomsville.
They had screwed up the bloodwork.
Lately I have found GPs to be more human.
hope you are on the right track now so that your understanding of what you are dealing with helps you manage it better...
xx, beep.
