Reading the Classics

Since I bought my new nook Colour I started reading the Classics, so far I've read HG Wells " The Time Machine" and am now working on Samuel Clemens " The Adventures of Tom Sawyer".

What Classics have others read?, What are your favourites? and What are some suggestions for good reads I can get from others?

I did the same thing. Books I havn't read in 35 years. Recently read, "Little Women". It was great, but so disappointing when Beth died. Guess I hoped something had changed since I was 14.

I just finished reading Bleak House by Charles Dickens. A few weeks earlier I read To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee again with my 19 year old son. He had to read it for an English assignment so we read it together so we could discuss it. I really enjoyed reading it again after 37 years. I had read it in high school as well.

Currently I'm reading The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway.

There a book I read in high school that I can't remember the name of that I would love to read again, I think it was by Hemingway. It's about a plantation down in South America that is attacked by a colony of ants. I believe it's based on a true story, if Anyone can tell me the title I'd appreciate it.

I sent them e-mails telling them how much I admired and cherished their works. But I never got any replies.
Maybe I came across as obviously-bipolar-over-excited.

i wrote her an email with the idea she wouldnt reply

with a stupid comment like "why is the cover of your book a snooker table"

and she ACTUALLY replied saying "because there is a poem called snooker in the collection"

Reading Alice in Wonderland and Alice through the Looking Glass. Just finished Hemmingways Old Man and Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby. Like books by Beepers, madmen and freaks. Lot of writers fill the criteria.

Brave New World.. Aldous Huxley

I want to read it again, now that ive mentioned it...

its such a great book. makes you look at how organised we are today and how true freedom doesnt really exist in any form of structure and utopia isnt what most perceive it is. its a weird one, loved it..

it will make you think..

    I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car.     Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner.  I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings.  But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!
