Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I also am doing a Master's degree on line and I play a flute, even though my hands are getting more and more crippled. What about a book club? Or photography?
Really, the sky is the limit! Personally, I am very partial to my bike, as I think everyone knows. And a good church - you should be able to find some intelligent conversation - one that fits what you believe.
Hoping you find something. Let us know what works.
It seems to me from your post that it is not a southern thing but a location thing. Judging from Gina's post you must live in a more rural area of Virginia therefore you may not find much of what you are used to in a larger city.
Small town USA exists everywhere not just in the south. People of lower intelligence can be found everywhere you go.
I currently live in the middle of nowhere Wyoming and there is little in the way of culture like what I was used to but I have come to enjoy some of the local festivals and activities. Once a month we take a trip into the big city to see how the other half lives.
I went back to school, I voluteer at the library and I have taught several classes through the Wyoming University's adult education program. Maybe you can find something like that in your area.
I truly hope that you can find something in your neck of the woods to occupy your time and peak your interest. Good Luck.
