pulled a muscle while sleeping

I pulled a muscle in my shoulder while sleeping a couple nights ago and it hurts like a suma bitch.....Anyone know of any exercises I could do to make it's transition back into not hurting again faster and smoother???

walk the wall. stand a foot away from a wall and walk your fingers up and down it. That's what the physical therapist made me do

I don't know about excersises or anything, but are you sure you just did it while sleeping? Are you tapering off any meds? When I wake up with a pulled muscle, it usually means I had a seizure that night while sleeping. My hubby actually witnessed it several times.

Or maybe you pulled it the day before, and it took a while to actually feel it...

Just thought you might be vigilant if you are going off meds or lowering doses it can cause seizures, so if something like that happens again you should tell your pdoc.

Odds are you actually didn't "pull" a muscle. Rather, you slept in an odd position and a muscle is in spasm - meaning it's tightened up and balled into a knot, and won't release. The key to getting the muscle to release is stretching it and contracting it along the specific range of motion on which it is spasming. Specifically, find the direction in which it hurts as specifically as possible (pulling left, right, whatever), stretch it slowly in that direction and pull against resistance in the opposite direction. I'm dealing with a similar thing right now too. Sucks.

Thanks everyone! I am not sure what happened or how it hurts I will try all the tips you all suggested!

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
