When I had that only full blown manic week, prior to that week, I had auditory hallucinations upon waking up in the morning, of leprechauns or fairies, who would run away when they saw I was waking up. This was before opening my eyes and fully awakening. My pdoc said it is normal if it is during that state before fully waking, but it's the only time I've ever had hallucinations.
When fully manic, I might have had some hallucinations also - of the phone ringing 3 times, as I don't know if it rang 3 times a bunch of times or not in reality. I experienced it as that. The number 3 seemed very prominent, and now I see the number 3 is the atomic number of Lithium which I find to be a bit of a coincidence perhaps.
I would run upstairs to get back to my writing, I thought I was writing some shakespeare type screen play but with a comedic twist, when in reality I don't know if I really wrote anything or not, as I deleted it all afterwards. Probably not as much as I was delusioning. At the same time an original symphony was playing in my mind while I wrote as well - another unusual for me. As I am not a musician.
I felt I could heal people with my hands, and I tried it on my wife with psychological healing. She seemed to respond to it. I was sane enough to not have tried it on anyone else. Words seemed to come flawlessly, I seemed to hike faster and feel stronger, sex was wild, and I thought I must have reached enlightenment and that I might have been on the same level as Jesus was. Then the crash into the severe depression followed. So that is my full blown manic experience. Oh and I think in my writings I prophecied 9/11, just in such an abstract way probably no one could have deciphered it until afterwards, including myself. It is such a strange, drug like experience that is too hard to describe to others, that you pretty much want to forget it ever happened, and you don't want to go back because of the high price of the months of heavy depression (killed brain cells) that follow.
She might be full blown manic, or just hypomanic, or hallucinating (psychotic level of full blown mania,) or she might just be self injuring regarding the nail filing?
