Congratulations on your pending pregnancy!! Very exciting! Meds, which meds, or no meds...your psychiatrist will know. I would get more than one opinion also. I'm pretty sure there are gray areas on this and many factors come in to play.

thanks splitscreen. i see my psychiatrist next week and gyn next month so i'm gonna take my med lists w/me and ask both of them too.

I was only on AD when I was pregnant with my daughter. The gyn said most AD area gray area where the risk to the baby is not as bab as the risk of you not being on them. I was also considered high risk during the pregnancy.

May baby did not have any withdrawals from the AD that I took so that is good.

Just make sure the pdoc and gyn know what is going on and can talk to each other.

I know a friend that was on abilify and wellbutrin and she was not able to go off her meds and her baby seems healthy..

See a women's specialist psychiatrist if you can. I am in the same spot you are, we just started TTC and I was advised to stay on my meds at least for the conception process and some of them through the pregnancy.

Check out http://www.med.unc.edu/psych/wmd . I went down to UNC to meet with the doc there, they are very timely about answering emails so if you are not in the vicinity of North Carolina they can probably direct you to someone in your area.

Congratulations! I went with meds for my pregnancy and I saw a specialist as a consultant who dealt with psychiatric meds in pregnancy. I also got the opinion of a geneticist and an opinion from a 2nd perinatal psychiatrist.

I was on lamictal 300, wellbutrin xl 300 and perphenazine 4 mg.

The greatest feeling is when a baby holds onto your finger r trys to suck on dad neck, lol, and the laughter of children.
ya new dad smiles n makes gue ing noise but hbe doesn't know that mom will leave him to change the baby. ya that smile on baby darling face, is baby farting, LOL
Enjoy sex. someday you can tell others the day that yyou had sex. due date is when. baby is how old, LOL Cheers to us. bottoms up.
