Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Mine started me on some Seroquel and it seems to have done the trick! I hope you feel better soon...ox
My advice would be to go see the psych doctor ASAP.
DSM IV Criteria
(Note: this is often referred to as "rapidly cycling bipolar" - but technically Rapid Cycling refers to at least 4 episodes in the previous 12 months that meet criteria for a Major Depressive, Manic, Mixed or Hypomanic Episode, and the Episodes are demarcated either by partial or full remission for at least 2 months or a switch to an episode of opposite polarity - e.g., Major Depressive Episode to Manic Episode)
A. The criteria are met both for a Manic Episode and for a Major Depressive Episode (except for duration) nearly every day during at least a 1-week period.
B. The mood disturbance is sufficiently severe to cause marked impairment in occupational functioning or in usual social activities or relationships with others, or to necessitate hospitalization to prevent harm to self or others, or there are psychotic features.
C. The symptoms are not due to the direct physiological effects of a substance (e.g., a drug of abuse, a medication, or other treatment), or a general medical condition (e.g., hyperthyroidism)
Note: Mixed-like episodes that are clearly caused by somatic antidepressant treatment (e.g., medication,, electroconvulsive therapy, light therapy) should not count toward a diagnosis of Bipolar I Disorder

Whatever the reason, or the diagnosis, please talk to your pdoc. They may be able to identify the reason and remediate it.
I learned that was not possible from people here so asked the new pdoc which was I....he went into this thing about how labels don't matter, etc. Then changed it to BP NOS.
So I swear even the pdocs don't have a good answer to this question.
Saw a new pdoc this week (we moved) and she said the new DSM will be out in the spring...hopefully it will be better explained. Then she proceeded to refuse to treat me. She wanted me to stop the klonopin and anyone who has ever had a panic attack would understand why I refused outright. But not her! Makes me wonder if Pdoc really stands for pathetic doc ;-) Can't think of a p-word that really fits..any ideas? LOL
