Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I feel like I've been plugged into an electrical socket but unable to move. I never sleep as it is, so nothing changes there. I cycle very quickly in a mixed state from highly HIGHLY agitated to full blown crying jags that eventually and almost always lead to me wanting to commit suicide.
In one day, I painted three pictures on canvas, threw them away, started a fight with my husband and threatened to get in my car and drive three states over, cried for hours, then wanted to kill myself. I went from manic to depressed in a 24 hour period with an almost tragic end result.
I know when these episodes are coming because, as I mentioned before, I start experiencing the "plugged into a socket" feeling, yet unable to move. It's very "push and pull" that really messes with your head because the inner turmoil, in the most literal sense, just makes you want to end it all.
I 've been diagnosed with bipolar depression and another time bipolar mixed, also bipolar nos, etc. It seems like I change with whatever medicine i'm on at the time.
I do relate to what FlutterbyAngel wrote. I, at times, will have increased energy, racing thoughts, etc but I can sleep. I sleep to get rid of whatever I'm feeling at the time. Its almost like a reset button.
There are hours/days when I can cry at anything and days when I have plenty of energy. When I am on a high, I clean. Everything seems cluttered/dirty and I sometimes can't stop cleaning until i am drop dead tired. I am going to look more into what Chanel22 said about dysphoric hypomania.
Everything related to bipolar is confusing!!!good luck and def go see your dr!!
