It's making me feel a little better to think about the ways in which I could be worse off - weird twist on positive thinking but whatever works I guess. So just for today I'll be glad for what I have and glad for the things I don 't have to put up with as well. Kinda fun making a list of them actually.

When i was in the ER February 16th 2025, i was being admitted to ICU where i was for 3 weeks, then had to relearn to walk for 3 weeks in another hospital rehab floor, the nurse told me something that made me feel for over 18 months now that i was finally *safe*. She told me that the guy who raped and beat me 21 years ago now almost 20 years at that time, was in prison as of a month before that...

i do the same...i lived and volunteered in southern africa for many years, and when i feel really bummed, i just remember the poverty and horrible stuff i saw, and count my blessings.
Life is good. I refuse to let my illness take my spirit away from me AGAIN.

I make gratitude lists for myself when I start feeling badly.....they help me turn the negative thinking into more positive and makes for a better day.
