Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I have been sharing some really dark moments here, and decided to share some positive developments)
jist this morning I felt hopeless and completely down, but after spending a day with a man I've had a complicated relationship for the past two years , but decided to let him back into my life after the last crisis , I feel much better! I also spoke to my best friend - she called me and we focused all the two hour conversation on her - instead of me wining about my problems .
and now I feel that I still have some people in my life and I feel like a normal person for a change.
I have been pushing this man away for the last year , telling him that we are going to be just friends. I felt that he's not my equal I know that sounds very self inflating , but this were my thoughts and I'm being honest here . And partially it's true. We are from different walks of life . But nevertheless he makes me feel alive and pulls me up from my deepest downs . So I begin to reevaluate this relationship and thinking if there's a man , who still accepts me regardless of my illness , maybe I should give it another chance . He makes me feel happy even when I just felt I didn't have a will to live few hours ago. And that's not cycling from down to up - that's true emotions. There's something about him which gives me warmth and strength and the feeling of being cared for. So I'm thinking maybe I should put all my bias prejudices away and just give myself a chance to be happy .
He will be moving from New York in a few months and offering me to move with him . First to South Carolina and then to Dominican Republic . I have been a New Yorker for 27 years , but right now my life is in ruins after the last episode and I'm not sure there's a chance to rebuild my life here..(
And maybe life and God put me in this situation that I would take a chance on a different life , which will bring me true happiness. I still think we are very different , but we have wonderful times together and he really makes me happy. It is a very big decision to love with him and I'm just begining to contemplate it , but somehow thinking about it gives me hope for a new life .
He is very well aware of my illness and is ready to help me get through it - and that is priceless . Just wanted to share that sometimes when we feel there's absolutely no hope , life shows us a new way.
Wish everyone here a positive outlook and to know that hope is still possible !
your input on my situation is very welcome

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

With regards to moving in a pretty short while I wouldn't do that until you are stable for a very long while.... Moving is HUGE.... One of the biggies in life ... Right up there with marriage and grief and until you are really stable I wouldn't do it
You can still care about someone and be very involved... Have a long distance for a while
I mean you are just deciding today that you want to be involved at all with this man
He sounds like a great guy though and I hope that things go really well for you.... Big hug.....xo
Glad you have someon in your life who is supportive. That’s wonderful. I can only echo what others have mentioned - take some time to move through the steps of moving and stepping into so much if you’ve only just decided that this relationship is good for you. We normally have reservations at first for a reason. Those places you are talking about all seem like very different environments and that’s something to think about ahead of time. Moving is big time stuff! Wishing you many good thoughts and peace.
