Hi
I just went off my meds again. I have been manic for more than a week. I think I'm starting to crash. i am getting very wired and I have to look after people so I have to come down off the joy ride. I was convinced by someone that mental illness does not exist and that I am a weak character. It was a mistake I guess. I still feel I was a stronger person and more myself before i got diagnosed and put on the meds. Is this all true? Does anyone have there doubts? I mean I've been in hospital twice and I have complex partial seizures which makes me hallucinate and when I first went nuts I had a newborn and I heard voices but it was a whispering sort of thing. They were talking about me in a menacing way. They weren't speaking like a real conversation. They were sort of prescences in the room. Very scary ones and I would have to leave the house. I just thought I might have post partum but that was 14 years ago. My life has been a bit of a dog's breakfast and I feel guilty and I don't know if it's all me or whether I really do have an illness. I can ask my doctor cause he's a psychiatrist. I need an impartial person.

I'm feeling down,, and got alot on my mind right now. I got grief going on, on top my depression and anxiety and now I got to worry about somewhere to live since I can't afford living here since my mom passed. So many bad things have happened since my mom passed. One thing after another it seems. Yesterday our fence fell from a storm that hit, had to call someone to prop it up. Thank...
By believing it yourself you can take proper responsibility and care of yourself with the sense of pride that comes with being independant and in control of your life.
The best thing that I ever did for myself was to fully accept and even embrace the disorder.... I was then working with it to be well instead of trying to constantly battle against it
"Accept the things you cannot change
Change the things you can
And have the wisdom to know the difference"...… This is always with me
Big hug.....xo
One thing I did was educate myself about BP. Read WebMD, Mayo Clinic, and other medical sites online. Once I realized BP was real, I was actually relieved to find out that my problem was not just me being a weak, immoral person, but that I had a real physical/mental problem that needed meds.
If those are my two choices, I willfully err on the side of healing hope. May I die trying to achieve a healthier view of myself. Call that what you want to get *my* life working in *your* head.
The obvious harshness of the above judgments is what convinces me that I have a mental illness, rather than being convinced I am a deeply flawed human being.
