Its two years away! Don't worry the whole two years about it, OK?
Hey, if you get the chance to ride on a proplain at a park or something do it. Its just an awesome ride. Help you get over your fear. And, its not that expensive either.

be sure to go to the web site of the airline on which you will be flying to look up what you can & cannot bring onto the plane. don't take someone's word for it. it frequently changes.
wear comfortable but easy on/off shoes. most airports require a major trek from one end to the other. plus security usually has everyone remove their shoes.
try to get a bulkhead seat for good leg room. tell them you''re claustrophic if you have to. they often save those for people with physical issues.
bring a good book or some magazines. a comfy neck pillow. some bottled water & chewing gum for the ear popping.
if there is any turbulance it is just the air currents, you aer not about to go down. try treating them like a rollercoaster ride. just don't wave your hands & scream. apparently that frightens the other passengers. (i said i was sorry!)
have a drink or ask your pdoc for something to relax you for the trip there and back.
and enjoy. it really can be afabulous experience!
disclaimer: this advice is based on the probability of no screaming babies, seat back kicking children, obese seat mates (hey i'm fat, i can say it), or loquacious seat mates suffering from halitosis.
Thanks for all of the extra info mbc =) and everyone it has been a blessing
Personally, the only thing stopping me nowadays is nervousness from other pasengers.Thinking I'm a terrorist.Ha.True.
Really, I had a fear before flying to Canada when I was 19.BUT.
It's a beautiful experience viewing clouds from above them and seeing the destination from just above their airport.
Outweighs the fears.Maybe think..."What was I scared of"..after too.
thanks a lot

Then I moved from WI to Denver for college, and had to fly back n forth. After a couple (which also included a coupla drinks) I actually really like it now. Specially the smaller planes where ya can feel the moving and that you're flying!
Not everyone's that lucky tho - my mom useta be ok to fly n it gets less ok every year
You know, flyng east to west, I saw a TON of crop circles. Fascinating.
