Pdoc did nothing......

talked to the pdoc today and she told me to take the vistaril for sleep issues That if one pill doesn't work I am to take two pills and if two pills don't work I am to take three pills....wtf.....if they don't work why take more? And I really thought she was gonna give me a sedative and she did not. I am not happy.

Hey princess!! This seems to be a theme with you huh? If it's a pill pusher you need then can't you find one? There seems to be a lot of those kinds of pdoc's out there. I have never heard of the vistaril....what is it? Is it an antipsycotic or is it just a sleep aid....I'm curious. BTW...thanks for telling me how to get an animated avatar!!! This one I like. But anways...good luck trying to get the meds you need!!! The damn pdoc's around here aren't any better.

If the Vistaryl doesn't work then talk to her about other treatment options. If she refuses to give you anything that works then find another doc. I went thorugh that with my old doc and all he gave for anxiety and sleep issues was freakin Benadryl which did nothing but make me hyper and Trazodone which gave me massive headaches and did nothing. To make a long story short, I quickly did my research on local pdocs and found myself a new one.

Vistaril is pretty much the same thing as Benadryl. Sounds like you need something stronger that's gonna do the trick.

Vistaril is Atarax- an anti-histamine that works a bit differently than benydril. Prescription only- and some people are able to use it for anxiety. When I had my SJS-like reaction a few months ago they gave me Atarax for the rash and not only was it effective, but it made me sleepy,too.

Vistaril is pretty damn strong, imo. I use it for anxiety and at higher doses it works very well to help you sleep. It's not exactly like benadryl- slightly different but close.

Try one- then if that doesn't work just up the pill. Just because something might not work at 25 mg doesn't mean it won't work at 50mg

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
