my daughter just keeps messing up in school. She keeps doing stupid things and breaking rules but that's not the half of the issue. I can see making mistakes but she blatantly does not obey her house parents' rules. Now easter break is coming up and I can opt to not have her home. I feel that might be a little harsh but she just isn't getting the message about following rules.
I just spoke to her and told her I was thinking about subtracting a few days from her easter break and that she had better start listening to her house parents. I told her restriction was only for five days so just do it and get it over with because now the three days have gone by and they wont count because she wasn't doing what she was suppose to.
Now in the past she's been harping on me to come home and that she doesn't want to be in the school any more. But I'm just too sick and I can't take her out of the school or I would already have her.
But on the other hand I can't enforce anything from where I'm at and I also don't know all the details because I'm too far from the situation. I feel like there's almost nothing I can do to get her on the right track.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Sometimes I wonder how I ever thought I'd be a good mom.
I just wish my daughter pulls through this and I feel powerless right now.
Sounds like your baby girl is miserable. How old is she? I'd be very reluctant to punish your daughter by not letting her see you at Easter break. She probably needs to be with her mama and if it's going to be a trigger for you, can you get some back-up?
Take care. It's so sad when mama and baby are both hurting.
It's quite possible that not being able to be with you all the time is part of the reason that she's struggling with things right now.
I understand if you aren't well enough to have her with you, then you aren't well enough to have her with you.
But, please!!!!! DO spend as much time with her as you possibly can!!!!
Depriving her of contact with you is more likely to make things worse, rather than better!!!
Even doing nothing is probably better than not letting her be with you.
Good luck!!! (((((Hugs)))))
Being bp and having kids can be so tough on us moms and I like you wish I could just be cured too. It would certainly make me feel less quilty about passing on defective genes to my 13 yr old son who has just been dx as bp.
I'm sure you will come up with the right answer for both you and your daughter. Good Luck
I was a kid who acted out a lot though... kids find a way to get attention and if it can't be found in a positive way it will be found in a negative way..
I agree with not limiting her time with you more sweetie...it sounds like she's hurting..x
I would take her home if I could. She knows she is loved and that is not the issue. It's just that she's made such a large mess at school that she wants to run away.
I'm on the line here. My family would try to take them from me if I took them out of the school. They are rich and I am not so yes I am afraid of them. I can't afford to fight them in court and because I have such problems I'm afraid I will get a label of incompetent parent.
So taking her out of the school is really not a wise choice. No offense to those who said I should. I understand the issues at hand but please understand I'm not doing it to be cruel or abusive. This is not a military school it's a christian based school for the impoverished. It has a very good reputation and the kids get college paid for if they graduate from the school. I can't afford to send my kids to college.
So please understand why I can't just jump and take my kids out of school. not to mention I am very sick and I have no help or support any where. My family is not understanding of mental illness. IF they even cared about me they would have helped me when I was even worse than I am now but they were no where to be found. I put them in the school because I was having issues in the first place and to take them out now while I'm still struggling just living on my own doesn't make sense.
All though I guess if she gets kicked out I will have to find a way to deal with it. I'm not a bad mom I just can't handle all the responsibility on my own. But I am on my own. I want my kids to grow up and have a better life than I did, and I want them to be more than what I became.
IF they come home I fear they will end up in a gang or on drugs. You don't understand what living in the city is like. It's very dangerous, especially for me as an adult let alone children. I was almost raped in town in broad daylight. I don't even feel safe walking around town any longer as every time I walk some where proprietorial men come after me. I'm scared for myself let alone my daughter. Even my neighbor said things weren't this bad five years ago. And the city schools here suck!
I'm too poor to afford private school. And I don't think I can handle home schooling my 9 year old ADD son. My daughter might be ok, might (to home school).
So my back is against the wall here. I know the school probably isn't the 100% ultimate solution but it's better than the shitty alternative.
But I agree with every one I shouldn't limit my time with her. I'm just desperate because I don't know what to do.
Also I have already decided not to take days away from her visit home. that may be counter intuitive but I agree that taking home visits away is a stupid punishment. And I look forward to the time I have to spend with my kids.
And thank you every one for saying that bringing her home for vacation is the right thing to do. I probably wasn't going to take days away from her any how, but I was considering it since she just isn't getting the message. Over all though I think every one is right.
If she is trying to get kicked out of school to be with you, then you need to keep telling her that this is NOT GOING TO HAPPEN and if she is expelled then she will be going to an even shittier boarding school farther away from you.
Its normal for a kid to want her mom, but you are too ill to care for her and your neighbourhood is too awful for her to live in.
Keep telling her over and over that you love her and care for her but are too sick to have her home and if she ruins her chance at this school then she will be going to an even more awful one.
