I am just curious if anyone else out there experiences outbursts of anger or just a general feeling of anger that follows you for most of your day? Lately I have been feeling angry or having these outbursts and when asked why am I so angry, I do not have an answer. I feel like I am on this roller coaster of ok, angry, sad, and anxious. I am currently taking lithium, lamictal, risperdal, and prozac, along with klonopin for my anxiety. I am asking if anyone has learned or know of any helpful coping skills to get me through these times. I am finding it near impossible to control any of my feelings through the day.

Anger can cause a lot of problems

I wake up everyday ok... but then.... something, even so small.... tweaks me out... because I cant believe the complete stupidity of it all.
For example... I ask for someone to do the dishes after I make dinner. Ok. Fine. The dishes get done, but ONE.... ONE fucking pot... filled with some food...... and it sits there all night.... and I wake up to it all hardened and stinking..... but the rest of the fucking kitchen is clean!!!
Why?
Or... a dirty pair of underwear sitting on my clean clothes....
My hair brush put on the highest shelf in the closet... I mean.. I use it.. why put it away... why?!?!
The toothpaste is always in a different place!
I cant help myself.... But I fee like.... why? Is this a test? Is there someone wrong with me?
And then when my husband comes home..... I cant help but hate his face..... because I have been brewing alll day.
:(

Im pissed right now.
So yes. I relate... maybe not t he same content... but definatly rage.
And I cant stop it. Ativan may help. I'll check that out.
Breathing exercises are helpful and thinking and/or writing about the circumstances you were in prior to and during the feelings of anger may help you find the trigger.
Do you want to cry when you have these angry feelings? Anger was the emotion that's been comfortable to my and the only emotion I really recognized. When I was angry I would want to cry, then I went through a period when the only outlet I had for any emotion was crying. I felt like crying was weak and made me vulnerable, but after letting myself sob (I mean the slobbering, sucking in my bottom lip, not being able to breath sobbing) until I had no more tears left I would slowly feel better. There may just be a build up of emotion that you're not used to feeling or dealing with and anger is your go-to emotion if it's familiar. If you feel like your in a safe place where you can let out your anger in whatever way possible (scream, cry, hit a pillow, write, draw, etc.) you can try to go with whatever that is and see how you feel afterwards.
Beneath the anger you may find your positive comforting feelings even if it takes a while to get there.
Sometimes I also feel the anger coming on and I almost welcome it. I look for an excuse to be pissed off. My feelings are valid, right? Then why not be angry and make others feel my pain too?
I'm working on this, because afterwards I do see that bringing down my friends, family, and/or co-workers hasn't made my anger go away and everybody is now in a crappy mood. It still doesn't stop me sometimes, though.
