The daughter wants a new dollhouse for Christmas, but really won't have the money for one till after January. There's this auction that is on ebay that contains a hannah montana malibu house and a hannah montana rockin tour bus all in one auction instead of two. It's about 345 that includes shipping. It's around 299.99 then shipping is like 45 bucks on top of that. She wants a new house because she's tired of looking at the one she has. She's had it for over a year. The old house will go to my friends house where she plays every friday night because she has no dollhouse there. I am sure that the doll furniture that I bought for the old house will travel to the friend's house as well. Considering the new house will be completely furnished and not in need of furniture so when she packs toys to go to the friends house she will only have to pack a few dolls and some clothes because the rest of her crap will be over there. She likes hannah montana but claims not as much as she used to like her. When she really really wanted the tour bus I didn't have the money for it and now I feel bad.....but I also will have the money for it this time. I could also just get her a barbie house instead. But then she will just have a house and not a house and a van. I don't want to get her the malibu house and tour bus and get a gee thanks mom. I really wish I knew what to decide. Presents, shmesants.

I'd be wary of teaching my young daughter to run around in rockstar's tour bus's. Do you know what kind of debauchery goes on in those things? Before you know it she'll be crimping her hair and wearing SlipKnot t-shirts and consorting with the wrong type of people. No, I'd go with something wholesome like a Snoopy SnoCone Machine and I've taken the liberty of locating one for you:

For a nominal price your little tyke could be entertaining her friends with an assortment of tasty snow cones and perhaps even charging by the cone. This way she will learn the value of a hard earned dollar and one day open up her own ice cream parlor or something wholesome like that.

Really....hannah montana is wholesome fun in my opinion. She's a teen idol so she has to be on her toes. Except for the semi nude pic scandal that was going on there really isn't much of a bad girl side to hannah montana. Her tourbus should be fairly safe.

If you want your daughter running around in rockstar's tour bus's that's your business but if it were me I'd go for the Snow Cone Machine. If you're ok with the partial nudity thing and the exposure to the rock and roll lifestyle for her then by all means go right ahead. Have you even considered the types of roadies that hang around these bus's ? It's far more wholesome to teach your child how to run a commercial snow cone enterprise and make some money to ensure she is fully clothed and not running about 'semi nude' as you so casually put it.

I know that sunshine but I won't have the money for the dollhouse till after Christmas. That's why I was thinking more along the lines of birthday gifts. Plus she knows mommy won't be able to afford a dollhouse under the tree this year. She will be getting one present she asked for this year and that's the nintendo ds super mario brothers game. The rest of the presents are a suprise. I spent less than 150 on Christmas this year and will be spending tons more for her birthday gift. She knows she might be getting a dollhouse for her birthday and is happy with that. I am just unsure of what dollhouse to buy. I could get the barbie dollhouse or I could get the hannah montana dollhouse and tourbus.

It's so hard buying for kids these days - it's seems like everything has all this stuff, and that stuff has stuff, too! The house and van sound good - can any of the family/friends maybe chip in a little and make it a semi group gift? Don't want to dilute the "this is from mom" though. You said you won't have the money til Jan. I wonder if there are other sites that might have it cheaper? Or if you could borrow the little extra you need from a friend/family member and then pay it back in Jan? There's got to be a creative way to do this for her. Hmm, I'll keep thinking.

I think i just might stick with the dollhouse and van idea kalima. She knows she won't be getting a dollhouse for Christmas and is happy with that. She is fine with waiting till her b-day to get one. I can't get this combo any cheaper than what I am paying for it. If I buy the items in two separate auctions I will end up paying about the same price or more. I already asked the seller if it doesn't sell if they would be happy to relist it for me. Yeah I should have the money for the dollhouse around january. The auctioneer said they have about ten more of said items even if it does sell and shouldn't have a problem with putting up another listing for it when I can afford to buy it. So a dollhouse for her birthday it is.

Also the parents only lend me money for important things like clothes and food. They don't lend me money for christmas gifts.....And I don't really have any friends that I know of that would have that kind of money to lend me so I can't get it for her under the tree this year.

Sometimes the lesson is you don't get what you want but should be happy with a thoughtful gift, I wouldn't worry about getting a $300 + gift if you can't afford it..

So she's tired of her current Doll House, she'll get over it, get her something you can afford and that your sure she'll like.

OMG I seriously had a Snoopy Sno Cone machine as a child and I did charge and had a stand out when we lived in Hawaii (every time I say "Hawaii" I laugh/giggle and think of Davenger - dun dun duuuuun) I vote for that one!

Honestly I would definitely not be buying her that lavish of a present (#1 - that is crazy expensive) just because she is just tired of one so similar - it is insane of a price for one... I would spend that on American Girl dolls, or My Twinn dolls- but Hanna Montana & she has a doll house she already - but is just tired of it, oh NO.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
