Stereo types they are every where and
whether they are for a reason or mere misconception they still are just the same.
My neighbor has admitted to a stereo type which some times worries me. I don't know what to say to her when she stereo types herself.
I think kids movies have too many stereo types or they try so hard not to that they go to ridiculous extremes.
What say you on stereo types?
Good bad? Or something in between?
And is it some times OK to stereo type or is it always wrong? Also how do avoid them? (seems like they are every where).

gosh that is just full of stereo types I wonder how the Scottish/irish feel about that?
Then I thought about a comment my neighbor made about her heritage that left me speechless and feeling uncomfortable.
She was making fried chicken which I said I never learned how to make it.
she said it was the first thing she learned how to make and that was part of her culture.
I'm up north and fried chicken is more of a southern thing, so it's a huge stereo type here.
It's not the only thing she's left me speechless and uncomfortable on. Even though we are really close I still feel a racial boundary.
And while we are both grown up and have discussed racism, it's hard because my family is racist still. And I know the things white people say behind closed doors. She knows it and I know it.
I just don't see how it can change. I know she's mature enough to handle a serious discussion about it but when she just says things like that it worries me. Cause I'm still white and I still don't know where the boundaries are drawn exactly. Or how to make the boundaries where they should be.
It's not necessarily derogatory so much as a stereo type. But it's been said in a derogatory way. So when she says it's part of her culture it's like saying the stereo type is true. That's why it left me speechless. I didn't want to believe that the stereo type was anything more than stupidity which it still is any how. But still.
North is more racist than the south I would say. People here are just straight up ignorant when it comes to racism. So even a small ordeal like this could be a huge racist stinking deal.
That's the problem.

all the heroines in movies are beautiful. It's especially prevalent in Disney movies. Name me one beautiful villain against one ugly heroine.
This only add fuel to the fire that women should be obsessed with their appearance. It starts early.
I'm talking about the stereotype that all women must be beautiful.
