We have a beautiful Black Widow setting up housekeeping just out side our front door in the upper right hand corner of the doorway.
I really don't want to kill her, I much rather relocate her, but she has and egg sack and we really can't afford to have a bunch of baby Widows running around trying to sneak into the house.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to trap and capture this incredible creature for relocation?
And if your going to be rude don't bother responding,

Lately I've been feeling scared and full of anxiety. I recently found a lump under my nipple. I hurt my back too. I'm in the process of moving. I'm run down. Everything is hard

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...

ooops. sorry.
Now, let her ride on the end of the stick while you carry the better location. Set the stick in a shady spot and walk away.
I would start with a photo shoot. Black Widows are elegant ladies.
I say Trap (with the glass jar), Trot (to a distance far from your home) and Turn 'Em Loose!
Someone suggested "hedge apples" as a natural deterrent. What's a hedge apple?
I understand respecting life but any life that could make me sick or potentially kill me has to go. And a black widow does not belong in or near any human beings house.
I kill all my spiders because I'm terrified of the brown recluse a spider that has a nasty bite, and I can't see rescuing a black widow either.
but if you choose to save it that is your choice and good luck.
Why bother posting and asking us how to handle this situation?
was your point to educate and instruct us about your superior ways?
This morning I see how thinly veiled your post is....another cover proselytizing your beliefs... am sorry I responded with a serious answer.
I am a spider relocate for the most part, but I don't go around preaching it or bragging about it.
More like argumentative. Too bad nobody said, "Stomp that shy little bastard!!"
just don't kill the bug.
I was not wearing my glasses this morning when I got on the puter. I mistook Arfie's reply for that of WW.
WW truly does not have a clue about spider relocation techniques. I should be more compassionate...after all I did have to go to the university to learn how to deal with insects and arachnids.
I now must retract my rude reply and shove it back where it came from.
OUCH
I tried a method I found on the web using a household vacuum( you remove all filters and such so you have just the empty cup. Unfortunately I don't think I was able to turn the vacuum off quickly enough and think even though the cup was empty, I believe she sustained fatal injuries from being bounce around too much. :(
What lives forever is the spirit of the attempt.
Ya did good.
