I know what you mean, Where I live it has felt like 107 with the humidity. I didn't walk outside for two weeks because the heat was so bad.

If I didn't have to walk in it I wouldn't care about it - wish I could just stay home and not have to walk to work, but then I'd be homeless

It sure has been a hot summer.. I hate walking in the heat to.. I don't want to go anywhere in the humidity..

The heat is horrid here too...think it is a cool down at a 100, guess it is when it has been anywhere from 105 to 112 without heat index. No rain to really speak. Major drought, fires in the northern part of state have done so so much damage. Farmers crops are awful. I could go on and on. And ya don't wanna speak about humidity.

Sorry to all y'all suffering with extreme heat and humidity. We need to put our minds together and develop some type of personal device to combat the impact of summer weather in the same way that the light box was devised to combat the negative impact of winter weather.

It should be solar-powered and sleek. How bout a stunning necklace and bracelet set that could magically chill those important pulse points and create an invisible, air-conditioned bubble around us. Would that even work?

we don't even have mosquitos here because it still gets so cold at night.

i feel for you guys. there is nothing worse than overheating.

Daytime highs of around 72 (22 C)- cold last night at 53 (12C). Rains at night, sunny in the day.

As for your comment about mosquitoes Mojo, you have obviously forgotten your roots. We are swarmed by mosquitoes - worst year since I was a child. It's all about the clay subsoil creating standing water, and the daily rain allowing the eggs to hatch and the larvae to grow.

Even in the sun, they were biting through mosquito repellent. I think the salt air discourages mosquitoes on the west coast. Just a theory of course.

oh, i remember alberta mozzies. bloody awful.

they gave me dengue fever twice overseas, so though i respect all sentients, i believe there is a special place in hell for mosquitos.

isn't there taxie services &/or possible public transport service
sipping on milk shake will cool our insides outward.
also to cool dwn fast. I wash my feet &/or hair n let air dry.
when needed, I put ice chips in wash cloth. lay cloth on bk of my neck. I also use 2nd wash cloth w ice chips rolled up in it, to press against my temples & wrist.
It is finely cooling dwn on east coast line.yesterday temp 89 at 8AM, by 10AM,heat index aprox 100 degrees.
Thank God wal mart is open 24/7. today went shopping at 5AM. In 1999 after having had a heat stroke after being treated, a mo prior to sroke,for heat exhaustion. I can nolong stand heat.

While you all suffer here in SoCal it has been one of the coolest summers of my life. It might be 98 midnoon today. I mowed the lawn at noon it was so cool.

Normally we are in the hundreds with humidity.

take electrolytes- helps your body cope

put wet towels in front of fan (if don't have air con)
