If you work in the ER, can't you get treatment there too? I would think they would bump you to the head of the line as a courtesy for your volunteering?

Oh that could be bad. I also work in ER and the Docs have less sympathy kinds like why can't you hold it together and I know the ER jokes about US better then most heard them all now

The nurses are so mean.

I know I have been where you are. I would call in sick and go to another ER. One where they don't know you. I go to BMH when I am sick now as they don't have my psych records and I am not just a psych patient. I go to the other hospital for psych.

i lie about meds. when I go for a real illness. I also make sure I stop taking them.

I made an eye apt at the same place where I went for psych and they said oh you were last seen for suicidal ideation what the Fuck does that have to do with my eyes?

Going to the er might be a good idea. You can talk to someone and see if you can get some help. You can then decide whether working is a good idea and let them know your decision.

I agree with not2sure after reading her post. The best place to go would be to a hospital with a psyche ER. The staff knows how to treat us. I have been treated terribly in hospital ER's as well.
Only you know if you should go. Are you planning anything?

Thanks Not2Sure but there is only one hospital in this little town where I live. My boss and a few of the nurses there already no about my bp, that's why I volunteer only. I've worked at hospital now for 2yrs and think the staff in emergency are great except a couple of nurses and one doctor. I'm trying to decide if I'm stabl enough to even go to work, I probably should and if things get worse or I can't handle it maybe I will talk to someone, my pdoc isn't in office today and I don't want to be put in hospital if he is not in charge cause I don't trust anyone else, they don't know me. hmmmmmmm....

Sometimes it helps to just take a moment to talk to someone else and you start to feel better. If you feel like laughing please go to myy journal, I post jokes everyday.

I'd just tell them I'm going on a vacation and stay home and go to pdoc. Are you really serious about suicide? If so call a suicide hotline for help.

self-care is important. perhaps the lesson in this situation is to take care of yourself by calling in to the er to cancel, yes?
