No, I already have a son and am planning on two more! I love my little man soooo much; even if he ends up dx, I will NEVER regret having him! Besides, bipolar is not only genetic, it is also environmental.

I have two adult children and raised them on my own. I have, not for one minute, regretted it. Nor have they.

i am terrified to have children. i hear there is an 80% chance of passing bp on to my kids.... there is no way in hell i'd have kids knowing theres a chance they could go thru what i go thru. no fucking way.
theres a chance my 6 year old nephew may be bp and it breaks my fucking heart.

My clock stopped ticking and BAM the biggest explosion. Personally, I think the best children are the four legged kind. I'm not saying that others aren't cute and etc., but I'd rather deal with a carpet stain than to hear "I need this" "I need that" "Give me a $20". Yes, I am old and cynical.

I have 3 perfectly wonderful children and no signs of BP or any other illness either.

I think you need to know what you can and can not handle. For me they were the reason I was given a reprieve from my illness.

Are you in a solid enough relationship or are you able to do it alone?!?

Don't worry so much, Alot of us are great mommies and I think its a very personal decision!!

misty do what you want about children. I am just of the school of thought that pets make much better children. So kudos on getting your chihuahua.
