Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I hope you can find solutions that work for you. I know that if I lose sleep everything goes to hell.
as far as the joint pain goes I've been having it for awhile now, and it's getting worse. My nees especially hurt. The pain was so bad yesterday I broke down and bought some aleve and bengay. I used the whole tub practically in one night and the aleve worked at first but wore off so quickly. I've been popping them like candy. I've been meaning to make an appointment with my doc but since my sleep cycle is off the wall again I'm afraid I just haven't gotten around too it. You have to call them at 8 am exactly to make a same day appointment and if you try to schedual one you can't get in for months.
I almost thought about going to the ER last night because my joint pain was driving me crazy.
And no I don't have a bed I don't have any furniture at all. I have shitty dry rotted army cot, which since I'm so obese I can't fit on it, and I have stilts that use to hold up an air mattress. But that air mattress is popped, so I'm reduced to sleeping on the floor which has been hell on my back.
I know there's furniture donations around but I don't have any way to transport it (which you have to have on your own) and even if I did I sure as shit can't carry that myself. You see the horrible horrible problem here? I really don't want to own furniture in case I ever am put in a position where I need to move out (especially quickly). I'm just not able to do it any more. I know that's a horrible attitude to have but I've lost sooo much stuff so many times. I've been through it before, being evicted and not being able to take a thing with me. I do tend to live in fear of that so I've learned it's easier not to own any thing.
I'm not looking for pity though I don't feel bad about it. I'm actually pretty happy considering ever thing. But last night I was feeling quite negative thanks to not sleeping. I don't want people to cry about it either. I told my neighbor who is such a kindhearted person she started crying. Which almost made me cry. I didn't like that, because I'm not sad about it. I chose it in a way I suppose.
But now that my joints hurt so bad I am starting to rethink the whole not having a bed thing. It'd be nice to have one since I'm like a princess with my body. Every thing needs to be perfect or I tend to be grouchy. And nagging pain drives me nuts because I can't focus on anything else but that.
I hate going down hill, and I hate bengay because I slather on so much that I smell like a walking medicine cabinet.
Do you think you could go to a church and ask if they could help you with the delivery if you could find a furniture donation somewhere? I used to go to a Methodist church and they were very good about stuff like that.
I wouldn't mind walking away from just a couch or a bed if I had to leave. At least not a much as walking away from a whole place full of furniture.
I don't like the thought of you sleeping on the floor! I hope you find something comfier soon!!! (((((Hugs)))))
As a recovering addict though I'm skeptical of what kind of pain meds they will actually give me. I'm a former heroin addict but I admit I never crave heroin or even desire to use it, but I do think about it when I'm in pain because I know that heroin cures pain you didn't even know you had LOL. One time I tried heroin and I was like "WOW my nee feels better! I didn't even know my nee was hurting but it feels great now!" The down side of that drug is that when you run out all that pain that was relieved suddenly comes back tenfold plus more pain you didn't already have before. :( Don't worry I wont be turning to addiction any time soon, its too expensive and heroin is one of those drugs that the withdraw is so bad it makes you think twice about ever using it again.
Have you tried Benadryl for sleep? As for your joint pain, the doctor can give you non-narcotic, anti-inflammatory meds. Some doctors will give you samples, if you can't afford the prescription. Some drug companies will give you aid, if you use their product. Also, Wal-Mart has a whole list of $4.00 prescriptions.
ASK for a donation on the bed. I like the idea of local churches. I know you have had alot on you lately, but be kind to my doorknob friend. Love, MK
Or one of those self-inflating camping ones.
You need softness for your bones sweetie. Or layers of blankets and quilts.
Sleep is just so important for us beepers, it is critical.
