Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I began the year by no longer consuming alcohol, which lead me straight to the doctor for insomnia, anxiety, and depression.
Not long after taking the anti-depressants it caused a mania response. I consulted with a psychiatrist and I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder 2.
I recently started medical management and weekly therapy.
Any advice for someone new to this group?
I have made daily prayer and daily meditation part of my practice
I have started eating more healthy and rediscovering old hobbies
Any thoughts on Seroquel?

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Seroquel has been a very stabilizing drug for me, with lamictal. After many years tried switching it up to find a more weight neutral solution (saphris then Latuda) but kept going back to seroquel.
Best wishes.
Seroquel works good for me, been on it years - my "sleeping" pill LOL
You've found a good group. I agree you are making all the right moves, finding safe understanding support is on the list: )
There are real life meetings - NAMI and DBSA are national if you interested in real life. check them out if local meetings in your area.
I've been on Seroquel for years as well
It sounds like you're making some great changes... Gratitude has been probably my greatest tool...
I would think of 5 things to be grateful for each day and it is uplifting .... Big hug.....xo
Thanks for the recommendation on the gratitude list. I used to do this, but I have found that daily prayer twice a day has been more helpful to me.
Hugs to all X
