Hi all,
This is a hard pill to swallow. I have a few health problems, while this doesn't come as a shock, it is shattering to hear those words from a doctor.
On Thursday I was diagnosed with Bipolar type 2.
I believe my dad and even my brother may have this condition.
I would love to know whatever you can tell me.
I have done some research, had a close friend refer me to a book and my psychiatrist gave me some info. I go back on the 29th for medication.
Thanks,
Tate

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

Good luck and again, welcome.
As others have said there is a ton of info on the net.. Sharing experiences on here can be really helpful to know that you aren't alone and many do go through some of the same things..
Working with medical professionals getting on the right meds.. therapy perhaps and what is deemed the right treatment for you will lead you towards stability.. And there is stability!!
Big hug of comfort for you and a blessing..x
i am less than 2 years into my diagnosis, and i have found this websight to be a wealth of information and knowledge.
if you have specific questions, don't be shy...just post them, and you'll always find good advise in the replies.
it is a crappy rollercoaster ride......I am so thankful that there is medications.
I'm not sure what type I have but the meds have helped
I find the Mayo Clinic site for bipolar to have lots of good info.
Research and being on DS, has helped me in ways ,way beyond just seeing a Pdoc ( psychiatrist )
Thing is that it's not such a bad thing to have, if you can make it work for you. But that takes practice and a pretty good deal of help.
thanks for the overwhelming advice everyone! I appreciate it :)
Actually, the book given to me was "Bipolar disorder - the ultimate guide".
I have a few medical conditions that predispose me to severe depression which is far from fun as well as some medications. Thanks for the head up everyone on the medications also, it will be a big help to know this.
Thanks again,
