Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I have been told a few years ago that i was bipolar depression. I also have ADHD and anxiety. I have been treated in the past for the depression and anxiety but never for the ADHD. I went to a new doctor to get back on my meds again. When i told her that i have ADHD and then she was very surprised to hear that i have never been treated for ADHD before, never. So she put me on meds for ADHD and something for the bipolar. She said that i am Bipolar disorder 1. I have done some reserach on it in the past and wrote a paper on it and i am going to dig it out and reread it to know more about it. This is all somewhat new to me. Years ago i was told that i had bipolar and the doctor just gave me some pills and told me to get out of the office. My dad even went to the office with me the next time i went to talk to the doctor and what he said to me. My dad was not very happy either. I was on and off meds for several years. been to therapy over the years. i am about to look for a new place to go to for therapy bc the one i was going to, i would go for a few visits then stop going bc of the long drive. It made it hard to go with small children in tow sometimes but i am trying to find a new place that is a little closer to my house and doesnt interfere with my childs appt with him being special needs. i think that i have a good support group around me, my mom, my boyfriend and my dad somewhat. When i was at my dads for christmas a few weeks ago i just started breaking down and crying and he asked me what was wrong and when i told him it was my anxiety and with me being sick, he asked me if i had any meds to take and i told him not at the time bc i was trying to get in with a new place to get back on my meds. i am back on my meds now and feel a little better. i know it takes time and i am trying. I write all the time to get things of my mind so that i am not thinking about things all the time. I have also beeing doing the adult coloring and that helps some too. i have so many things to pick from to color and sometimes i just color all day and sometimes i feel better. Been doing it for over a year now. Its really the only thing that i buy for myself now days. I am always looking for new thins to do to try to help with i am feeling depressed, upset or when my anxiety is up. Always up to try something atleas once to see if it will help me out so that i can take care of my kids everyday and do what i need to do around my house. But there are bad days and good days. Just take it one day at a time and see what happens and comes my way with it all.

Due to my increased paranoia, anxiety, and a panic attack over the weekend, my psychiatrist has put me back in a full dose of Zyprexa until further notice. Every time I think I'm getting ahead something happens and it's back to square one. I knew he was gonna do this but I can't help feeling disappointed. It is what it is.
