New Caseworker Suprised to know I am married

I have a new caseworker and when I told her I was married and she saw my husband she had a shocked look on her face. Apparently whenever someone hears the word bipolar it is true that they run for the hills. My husband said he didn't because he loved me and he was kinda attached to my daughter the bonus package that comes with being with me. He said she is really sweet and whenever he is stressed out he really enjoys the warmth that she gives him. I should consider myself lucky.

You are very fortunate Princess! I agree that when most potential parteners find out we are beepers they make a break for the hills. Cherish everyday you have with him.

BP does have a way of making people "run for the hills." Thank God I married my husband before I knew I was BP and before my symptoms got really bas as they have over the years. Now I think he feels like he needs to stay with me.

Didnt know I was bp until I hit my mid 30s.
Been married almost 30 yrs now
I know he loves me, but he has to have some resentment.
We talk about everything but bp.
Now when it comes to my daughter with bp, we talk about it all the time.
This illness is so complicated sometimes.

So nice to know that people in the professions that are supposed to help us make generalizations like the one your caseworker made - no wonder the general public is weary of us

Yep kudos to him. Shoot the case worker with a rubber band next time she stares at the hubby...
