This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I'm going on maybe a week or so of Lithium treatment and taking it religiously. My mood swings are gone, poof, along with all of my social cues weirdness that was probably my main trigger.
It's weird talking about simple happiness and stability with a personal tone, rather than a sense of detachment. Sometimes it feels like I don't really have a personality anymore, but I don't care because I can breathe again.
I'm considering making a personal appeal to someone who has emotionally fucked with me before to consider psychiatric medication because they're the sort of person who's all "It's all corporate bullshit, no one actually benefits from this shit". There's no way to preface that conversation without the usual awkwardness that comes with "This changed my life and it can change your's too!" talks, and I don't know whether it'll do any good, or if I'll have to explain that I'm still not ready to talk to them.
But the pain and anxiety behind it is gone. Another thing is that I don't agonize over decisions anymore. I can talk to people without a good reason, without a sure opinion, and it doesn't phase me.
It's such a blessing, really. But a very strange and uncomfortable adjustment. I don't know what to fill my brain with if not the usual back-and-forth. But for now I'm looking ahead and optimistic about things.
Also I passed my Compass Math Exam today, I found out. c: So I can take classes this semester without pre-req's. And I found out I'm 50% done with my certificate program. !! And I met a super sweet girl and she's entering college and we're gonna be friends and I'm gonna help her out with classes. All great things.

So I have been having a lot of health issues and my cardiologist felt that he didn't get clear enough images of my heart in the office, so he wanted to do a Trans-esophegeal heart Echocardiocgram in the hospital. I was pretty nervous about it, because I've never had any procedures related to my heart or any other major organs. I've had knee surgery and thyroid surgery, but to me anything to do...
