So a little background story on me. I was diagnosed with depression at age 16, i'm now 21 years old. Then at 19, with severe anxiety, after several medical interventions didn't work, I was sent to a mental health worker who diagnosed with me with bi polar 2. So since then I've tried several medication, who have some not helped, and some, made it worst. I've gone to see this mental health worker and a slew of psychiatrist in the last 2 years.
So i'm a full time university student who lives on their own, I don't get along with my mom, and I work part-time. I struggle to pay rent every single month. I've moved in with my friend, who has borderline personalithy disorder last year. So since moving in together, you can definitely say my life has becoming signifacntly more complicated and stressful. Between her angry, drunk of a boy friend, the slew of other friends who range from ex-drug addicts who substituted their drug problem with alcohol to friends who still do drugs and who steal.
I used to drink quiet often, but I've cut back drastically (once every few months compared to 3-4 times a week). So i'm not in the party scene, so it's quite frustrating always having to deal with drunk and/or high people. I've tried talking to her about how I feel, but she simply doesn't care.
So the last the few months, I've been experiencing a severe depressing period, i'm sure the roommate and money situation isn't helping. I feel like my school isn't going well, I've had to drop several classes due to too many missed classes. I gave up all my hours to go to university, and i'm failing at it. I know I shouldn't overload myself, but I need to work to pay for my living and I need to take atleast 4 course for my loan to be approved.
I'm constantly feeling down, and discouraged that my life will always consist of ups and downs, and when I do find a medication that works, the thought that eventually it will probably stop working and this process will restart is pretty disheartening.
So I guess my question after all this information is, Is there hope for a normal life? How can I get through school, and my roommate situation? i'm drowning in my own sorrows, sometimes I think that this is how my life is always going to be. As sad as it sounds I can't wait for a hypomania period. Anything change from this darkness would be nice at this point...

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Check with legal aid to see about getting some support for breaking your lease. Life can be good.
A good life is possible! You're just in a rut right now and understandably so! Maybe your landlord could put up a 'curfew' so she wouldn't have too many friends over late at night.
It is so annoying to deal with drunk or high people when you're sober. I'm sorry you're dealing with this! Big hugs!
You can't be expected to live somewhere that people are doing drugs!!!... They're illegal so I believe you're on solid ground there... As well as being around drunks... I would see if you could talk to a school councillor about this...See what your options are and then maybe get a roommate from school??
Yes there is stability to be had...It often takes some time to find the right med combo... You have a lot going on sweetie... Finding a stable living environment I'm sure will help a lot... Big hug for you...x
In case you can't break your lease, to lessen the stress of being around you roommate and her toxic friends try spending as much time away from them as possible. When they are there, go to the library or someplace you could study, read, etc. I know this sounds unfair to be chased out of your apartment but sometimes it's the lesser of two evils.
best wishes
Talk to a lawyer, it won't cost anything. I bet you can break the lease.
I can't help with your landlord issues in particular but I can assure you that if you have things to look forward to in your future the world seems less bleak.
So if thinking about it doesn't seem to be helping then I'd suggest getting out the old diary and making a few dates to meet, catch up with, and have fun or a chat with any friends or family you CHOOSE to rather than have to. I.e. on your agenda.
The more positives you can plan into your life to balance out the negatives the better.
Best of luck and best wishes :-)
