Wolfram, I know all of that, but that doesn't make love a myth. Love is still an emotion.
But yearning for another persons presence isn't love. And the feeling of being loved isn't love either, that's happiness which is still for you and not them.

sure its a myth, just like all emotions are a myth. They are just concepts that ancient man came up with in his ignorance of how the body works.

sacrificeing yourself for some one is crazy and illogical. The only time you should do it is if their life will add to society more than yours.

Love is one of those things it is unexplainable for more than one reason.
Its scary and totally trusting. I have had so many people that I have allowed myself to love hurt me. THAT changes you sometimes better sometimes worse. Being treated for BP I have only now been able to open my heart again the last couple of months and its wonderful and scary!!!

Nope, that is madness, as I'm just learning, now that I'm on medication that works, for the first time. I honestly look back on my life and keep asking WHAT WAS I THINKING!! But that's a long story.

LOL why should I find a new definition because you saw madness when you looked back on your life? Love is Love is Love, the rest is just desire. Every single intimate relationship between two people is founded on desire! love comes later if at all!!and that's the point is love isn't a guarantee in any relationship. It's not even a guarantee to love your family!!

You should change because love does not exist. Logical and symbiotic relationships are the only ones that we should have.

Think of how much time and energy you will save once you live a life with no love or emotions.

Why feel sorry? I rather go "without" from logic, not because they "hurt". I prefer not living a lie, that emotions are real. We are nothing more than a big bag of chemicals. Putting imaginary concepts on what those chemicals are doing has lead to countless wars and suffering and destrucion since the emergence of mankind. We need to come into equilibrium with the universe. Since the universe is run by physics, chemistry and mathematics it is through those that we should be living our lives.

You can go ahead and try. And I say more power to you. emotions are real, just because it's caused by this chemical doing this to that chemical doesn't make it a lie. It's just as much a lie as life itself.
