That's a Mothers love IMHO. I would sacrifice myself for my kids but not for my husband!

That's my point. Having comfort and steady sex partner isn't love. And I'm not saying that love means total sacrifice. I think that love is love and that a mothers love is merely the strongest kind. total self sacrifice.

I find the deffinition of love is holding your partner when they are vomiting from the flu scared when they fly for business and miss them terribly when they are gone.

However, last night in hispital I was asked Do you love your husband or are you IN LOVE with your husband.

While I would sacrifice anything to help him, I do miss him when he is gone. I often find its more just comfortable.

I am not sure that I am in love with him anymore or not.

I would take a bullet for my husband.......and vice versa!

If my house was on fire I would jump in to save my dog. But half the time I ignore her or yell at her. Love doesn't always seem to be there but if it is always there, then it's love. I hate my husband sometimes but deep down I love him all the time.

To want someone next to you is still something you want for yourself. The way I wrote it earlier and should have this time was

"Love is when you care for someones wellbeing enough that you are willing to sacrifice part or all of yourself to see it... all the rest is desire."

lisa that's what I'm talking about. I'm not saying married people don't love, I'm saying people are looking at the wrong thing as love in a relationship. All a marrieage seems to need is desire but when the desire runs away then what?
