Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
That feeling of pure human joy, when you become the life of the party ... and the mere mortals flock to you ..... they want to eat that euphoria with a spoon .... cause you are on fire ... and they want some!!! That is the single most awesome thing ever .... and it is the payback to people like us for the rest of the shit we get with the package. If I have a "raison d'etre" it is to pursue by all and any means where I can get into that mode with a degree of control ... and I'm getting there! I've given up on being normal and am now focussed on spending as much time as possible being the best of what I am.
ANYONE who wants to bring you down for enjoying that can go and GET FUCKED !!! They are just wasting space in your life.
There's a line ' There is good and bad in everyone' . It fucks me up how profoundly deep that song is.
I was not/am not an egotistical person; I am not passing judgment on anyone. I just didn't understand and still don't understand the vast majority of people. I know that part of this comes from my personality type, but a lot of it stems from being Bipolar~~the combination of the two has made it difficult for me to relate to other people.
For the most part during my periods of mania I have been very energetic, driven and quite productive in my personal and professional lives, so I haven't drawn a lot of negative attention to myself. However, my long periods of depression and/or mixed episodes have often been a source of contention~~incredibly painful and debilitating.
I suppose I have never really been inclined to pay any attention to much less accept other people's views or opinions of me in place of my own reflection in the mirror or as a means of defining myself.
I don't know, but maybe not understanding other people for so long has protected my self-esteem.
I think we all deal with people not understanding our illness in one way or another.
hypo manic or manic would indicate that there is a harmful downside that is not healthy. once i think about it more. there was other traits, that would be attributed to hypomanic or manic, but not the ones i mentioned.
