"And by a strange alchemy of brain his pleasure always turn'd to pain- his naivet to wild desire- his wit to love- his wine to fire- and so, being young and dipt in folly I fell in love with melancholy" Edgar Allan Poe When I read this it really hit home for me. From a very early age I was prone to dark moods. These moods continued to this day. There are periods of time in my life when the darkness isn't so bad but it always comes back. Also making friends on here, and real life with MI - let's me have support, and someone to talk to - the more people we share with the less isolated and powerful the depression is....
Wishing you peace and comfort ASAP!
I also have learned positive self-talk. That has helped with my negativity.
Doing anything different, or in depression - the brain screams NO - you do it afraid, uncomfortable, head pounding, sweaty palms - you are worth ONE HOUR a week, to find tools and support...
