Have to decide whether or not to go back on zyprexa and lamictal the combination kept me on the up side but is better than just haldol which has side effects and keep-s me on the low side I do not feel right not doing much more than tryi9ng to sleep it has stopped putting me to sleep which imakes it about usless to me even though I have not been really manic since last year or more but it is a dangerous drug and I do not want the side effects Zyprexa runs the risk mof diabetes which I do not want either they offered me vraylar but it costs so much the insurance may not pay for it anyway so I am left with the old zyprexa and lamictal or just zyprexa I doubt they will just leave it with the lamictal never tried that by itself They seems to prefer the antipsychotics tendencies they say

Have you ever tried just an Anti seizure med alone? And have you ever tried Tegretol? It has less side effects than Lamictal and it works pretty well...not sure what your Pdoc is open to trying. Do you tend to be more Depressed or Manic when not stable?

Never stable more mania but regular cycles so about equal tegretal did not work doubt they will just give me anything without the antipsychotic lamictal keeps me hypomanic good in a way bad others guess that is my only option nothing else works at all

I did well I. Lamictal, Zyprexa, and celexa all together. I still take the Zyprexa but dr dc the other two in an attempt to cut down on the amount of meds I was taking

People who stay Manic don't get Anti-Depressant's Kisses, it tends to make the Mania worse.

I'd go back to the Lamictal/Zyprexa offering and see if that helps. You may be able to give your body a break from the Haldol for a while.

You'll need the Anti-psychotic to balance the Lamictal...hopefully you'll get some stability without too many side effects.

It is just the lamictal gave me a bad tremor jerk really even with benadryl cannot take cogentin either makes it worse at least it did one time I work with my hands and need them it is just a pain in the neck but that is what I will do thanks

What about Topamax, have you tried it? There's also Depakote but it doesn't have as good of a track record with BiPolar.

I am new to this group. Feeling lost and lousy. Currently in a mixed state but the depression is worst part. I am extremely irritable and agitated which is how I know I am mixed. Oh this is all so complicated. I have been on Welbutrin, Lamictal, and Lithium for many years. They worked so well together. It’s just been in the last 2 months I have seen a decline. I can always tell when my lithium level is low and it is right now. Waiting for my doctor, who by the way is my Godsend, to give me the next step. I haven’t changed my meds in several years so I am very nervous about it. She mentioned coming off my Welbutrin slowly, increasing lithium, and adding vraylar? Anyone familiar with it. I know it’s a newer antipsychotic.? Any advice or words of wisdom would be so appreciated.

Tried topamax and depacote do not work either I am limited as meds just do not work thanks

    Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
