my pdoc took me off zyprexa after being on it since 2012, he started me on latuda but kept me on the zyprexa for two weeks. Since coming off it I feel horrible, cant sleep waves of depression. Should he have weaned me off? I see him wed and I am just so confused i want to ask him to put me back on the lowest dose of xypreca and wean off very slowly. Any thoughts?

I think that makes sense. I mean, if you feel bad since going off it, that's enough evidence to me. I hope you can negotiate this with him

Well he took me off cuz of weight gain. But I was on 10 mg, I was gonna ask to go back on 2.5. He mentioned adding in Valar or something but I looked up side effects an no way.

I discontinued my antipsychotic abilify a few months ago. My pdoc weaned me off it very slowly. Took almost 6 months to get off it. I haven't had any problems. Now, my pdoc didn't put me on anything else at my request so that could be the difference. Talk to him like you said and see if he can help you with this.

I had the same problem Wilber going off Zyprexa on two separate occasions. An increase in depression. Pdoc and I decided it’s best to just stay on the Zyprexa. Is that something you can do? Why are you going off it in the first place?

He took me off due to weight gain, i actually lost weight working out on the 5mg but once they upped it to 10mg i gained 30 pounds. Otherwise it works pretty good.

I gained 65 lbs in it so wanted off. I’m not much overweight as I was stick thin before, but the benefits outweigh the cons. I just have to eat more carefully now.

Well I excersize everyday and still gained weight, I don’t think he is going to let me go back on it, he has concerns for physical health. He is probably going to increase the Latuda is my guess, I don’t know if the insomnia is from discontinued zyprexa or the Latuda.
