Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I'm not alone!!! Woo hoo...
I saw him for several months for depression due to health issues..and..unfortunately, ended our relationship with abusive profanity when I was in a mixed episode.
I'm sure he'd see me..but..his clinic is out-of-town...as are all my damn Dr.s....and roadtrips are difficult.
I think I'll just start the process to be seen in my town.
Thanks again everyone. I think I just really hate the idea of hospitalization in general..and the smoking thing is just part of it.
I'm not one to even have started this thread..so..it's probably time..and then some..to get back to some form of treatment.
Hugs...jc
It is like thinking about volunteering for jail..:-) :-)
Um..you're welcome? .. Gina..:-)
I forget there are so many nicotine replacements now.
I like gum because of the sensory aspect...I say get on the gum

Almost 10% of all people are allergic to tobacco. So it is not just about future cancer, it is about sending me to the ER and not being able to breathe. I know addiction is very commonly associated with mental illness, so I am not putting anyone down. I've wrestled with my own demons.
But if you are not doing well, does a cigarette, an addictive substance with over 5000 chemicals including 54 carcinogens really trump your need to get help?
It never ceases to amaze me, the priorities of people!
LMAO : )
I thought it was a good topic
My fear of going to the hospital....... is not regarding smoking and its frequency. (although being on lithium has somehow conjured a half a pack a day outta me) I fear going to the hospital for the everlasting mark it will leave on my life. For certain job opportunities (Being a Security Guard/P.I - A prison Guard) As this is my aspiration after my life is reassembled from the shattered shit upon the floor of my soul...... It would also be the first thing my husband would bring up as a reason I dont deserve to care for my children upon a breakup.
I also fear the discrimination and alienation from my peers - Being the Guards who tend the Hospital. They were all once my co-workers, classmates and friends.
I currently have no friends. I have sucessfully stowed away my life for 2 years in fear of someone seeing the waste I have laid to my body (fat) in becoming a mother. No time for me... no energy or motivation really .... I must have time I am writing on this thread.
Im feeling rather ..... pitiful today.
I guess I'm lucky in that the hospital I go to when needed has smoke breaks, they're just every two and a half hours. But I only need them the first two days. Once I'm back on Welbutrin, the craving goes away, and actually makes me sick to smoke.
