Does anybody else have an issue with showering? I do. It is hard on me to take a shower so when the thought comes to mind, I feel as if my body is laden down with lead and I am just too weak to move it. So I sit and dread it and eventually talk myself out of it. I didn't even think about it tonight though. Once the thought hit, I went right straight and got in the shower and now I feel soooo much better. Nice and clean. Plumb sexy even!! Grrrrr!!

During a bad depression years ago I took 1 shower a week.
Cleanliness has a lot going for it, that's for sure!

I always have trouble with it. Problem is I hate being wet. And now that its hot out, sure ill be cooled off in the shower but when I just get out I get real overheated and it suuuucks.

Agree with overheating. Plus, I hate shaving my legs. I dread taking a shower.

I just have a hard enough time washing my hands once a day and you want me to take a shower once a month tooooooo. Oh I hate the thought of it; for me it seems such a waste of time after all I could be here on DS for an extra 10 min instead of wasting it in the shower.

yeah... showering is definately tough whether feeling depressed or manic. I think the longest was a week. I'm with you Chelle....lately with the warmer weather I try to convince myself that running the cool water on my face sometimes pulls me out of a bad place.

yeah, definitely w/the aversion to the shower thing. it's weird. but, it does seem like i'd rather do almost anything else. but once i do (which isn't often during depression) i feel so good about myself. it's definitely a bp thing.

I thought I was alone in the aversion to water/showering subject. I hate getting my face wet. Once I'm in the shower I am okay though and I feel so good when I get out that I don't understand why I avoid getting in. It makes no sense.

it's even worse for me because I don't HAVE a shower, only a bathTUB, it is such a pain...I have been having a hard time keeping clean lately...:(

I'm the type of person if I don't shower once a day and put on deoderant then I'm going to have a slight odor so I always shower... there have been times in my life when depending on how much exercise I was doing and the season I would shower up to four times a day... but when I get too depressed to get out of bed and change my clothes and shower, I never have an odor (my family has pointed this out to me)... then again, I'm not moving around so thus not sweating so maybe it actually makes sense
