I'm like that, too. Except for the fact that the last few times I showered, I didn't feel any better afterwards. Or during, for that matter. The whole process seemed like an ordeal.

Thats great Chelle! Its an accomplishment. Many of us share that problem I believe. I try to shower at least every two days. I dread it so much though. But one does feel soooo much better once you get it over with. Thats how I convince myself to shower. Well, I hope you have more days like this one where you just go right to it without giving it much thought!

I typically always feel better afterwards (there are times that isn't true - though rare) just getting myself to take care of myself is the real issue.. I wonder why that is? Are we just destined to be stinky & dirty? I used to be so different and bathe twice a day. :-/

I love showering.

I have problems cleaning my teeth though. I can't handle anything obstructing my mouth. As for going to the dentist - no way could I handle it.

In the lead up to when I tried to do myself in (100% serious and nearly successful) two and a half years ago I didn't shower for weeks. I couldn't do anything for myself and had no-one to look after me or even visit me once. I didn't change out of PJ's, just threw a top over the top and went to the shops around the corner to get food and ATM money. The only time I did dress (and still not even necessarity shower) was when I went to see my psych - this psych being the one I told at every session that I was suicidal and he did NOTHING.

So, I take showering and putting mostly clean clothes on everyday very seriously. I recently had a couple of PJ days and while many would think that's no big deal - it scares the SHIT out of me so I had to put a stop to it quick smart.

Unlike others I like REALLY hot showers. I stand under there and stretch my neck and back which are chronically in a bad state because of menttal illness. I have to remind myself to clean my teeth though and when I do that makes me feel great.

I take baths...I look forward to my daily bath. WHen I was severely depressed I went every other day

I do, particularly when I'm depressed lately I've been taking a shower about every 3-4 days. Funny though, I always feel clean and refreshed afterward , guess I should do it more often .

I hate taking a swower it takes so much time and I just dont have the energy to do it. Sounds gross I know but I truely do hate it. My husband will come home and say "nice hair." I want to sock him lol

I admit to being lazy about it if I don't plan to go anywhere that day. Other times I just wear a shower cap and don't wash my hair or don't shave my legs if I am too lazy when I take a shower. But I only go without washing my hair every other day, otherwise it gets oily. Once I get in, it does feel really nice to shower. I think having nice quality shampoo and body wash that smells good kind of helps. It's kind of invigorating. I need to jump in the shower within the next 20 minutes.

Sooo glad I'm not alone in this. Had to force myself into the shower this morning, but hadn't been there since Friday. Spent all weekend in the same pjs. And you really do feel better after you're all clean and fresh clothes on....but I dread it some days too. Very strange.
