losing weight

I've lost 40 pounds in the last 5 months. 10 pounds in the last 30 days. It has all come from changing my meds. I got taken off of depakote 5 months ago and this month was put on abilify. I haven't done any excercise or anything.

This is the greatest thing that has happened to me since being dx'd bp

That's wonderful! When I was on trazadone it made me lose weight. Now I'm back to some drugs that make me ravenous and I want to eat all the time. Good for you!

I too gained tons on depakote, once off it I started losing and haven't stopped.

Congrats nobody666, it is common for BP suffers to have an underactive thyroid gland, this slows your metabolism and causes depression.

I was dx with an underactive thyroid, and prescribed Thyroxine, which speeds up your metabolism and helps your depression. Helps me keep weight off :))

Im 5'10.5 and weigh 63kilo's pr 10.5 stone, not sure what that is in pounds.

I lost a significat amout of weight in the weeks after I came off depakote.
