first you have to deterimine what insurance benefits you have, if any. Most private insurance has a limit on inpatient days unless you live in a parity state. A really good option is a day-treatment/partial hospitalization program. You are admitted as a patient of the hospital, but your treatment takes place as an outpatient. Most insurance will pay 2 days of outpatient for every 1 of inpatient. You will get better care and more personalized attention in a day program that you ever will as an inpatient. There are a few ways to find programs: go through your insurance provider, ask your pdoc or tdoc, call your local NAMI chapter (nami.org), google partial hospitalization programs for your state. You actually may have an easier time finding a long-term program for your eating disorder than for bipolar, so keep an open mind.

I know a hospital where I live in Michigan it has and been voted the best eating disorder hospital in the U.S.A. It is founded by a DR. that resides in Texas and the hospital for the eating disorder is Forest View Hospital In Grand Rapids,MIchigan.I tnik they might be on the web.I know that I had a 100+ days for inpatient hospitalization.I have spent ALL but 5 days left there.That hospital had such a great depression and eating disorder hospital there I would NOT recommend any other hospital the 2 that are around me to someoen else whois seriously seekeking treat meant..I will get the phone number and post it..That's the best hospital I have ever been in.
