Hi There,
Thank you for reading my post:)! I did my fair share of dabbling with drugs in my twenties but this was before I was officially diagnosed as bi-polar and on medication. I now take Lithium, Topamax and Adavant (sp?).
A girl I've been dating and I talked about maybe trying E this weekend (something I haven't done in about 10 years). I'm a little nervous about doing this knowing I'm on pharmaceutical drugs now, whereas years ago I would have popped that pill in my mouth and not thought twice.
I am curious if anyone has done E while taking medication and how it's been for you. Does anyone know about this topic? I am thinking of going to Walgreens and speaking to a pharmacist there- feeling a little hesitant about speaking to my psychiatrist about it though I might.
I welcome any and all thoughts- thank you kindly! This would obviously be a once in a great while experience- not looking to regularly use any substances. I do occasionally have a beer or glass of wine now and again but that's about it and I've already discussed this with my psychiatrist.
Thanks:)

i haven't dropped acid since starting antipsychotics, but i do wonder if the ap's would dull out the trip"?
i have heard from others that chemical drugs don't work as well when taking psyche meds, so the temptation is there to take more just for the `regular' high.
oh well, i can tell there's absolutely nothing anyone can say to dissuade you, so i wish you luck. let us know how it goes.
Even that you've asked about this means you must have some concerns
Whatever you decide I hope that you'll be okay.....x

I have read about E being used by a couple of therapists in NoCal. Breakthrough therapy for people who have been stuck in depression for years.
I think that people on DS need to realize how prevalent party and recreational drugs are. Yikes. everywhere!
Education, Harm Reduction and discussion are important and helpful. Preventing bad consequences. Judgmental attitudes pretty much shut people down...drive them to what you don't want them to do. That is human nature imho.
Moonlight---here are 2 links for you to explore. I like both these websites--a wealth of info.

If you do decide to use...go for low dose. Better just to enjoy your horney gf.
I think everyone wants the members to be well and not have bad experiences and that reflects in our responses..
I've dabbled in drugs in years passed and it wasn't all good ....x
From memory most E deaths are due to over heating.
Lithium also causes problems with over heating as I have experienced myself.
frankly you are an adult so it really does not matter sounds like regardless of any "advice" you seek you will do this anyway.
I have a couple of questions though.
after 10 years why would you even want to do this now.
you are adding a uncontrolled substance into a body already medicated with untypical drugs in it...........really you think your experience is going to be a good one? .
since you have already decided to do this why the question?
If I told you my twin brother was on psych meds and did some "recreational" drugs because he could handle them occasionally.......after all we can all handle ourselves when it comes to drug use cant we? and the drug inter acted with his lith and of course lith will turn you into a drooling idiot quicker then it kills you ......would it really make any difference to you?
you can get information on the net where on a msg board you will just get emotion driven opinions. I think you know that though. so with many who answered you I really wonder why this question?
you have to admit if you really look at your post it truly looks like you are seeking approval then as you reply to everyone it turns to looking more like your seeking attention. Good luck to you and remember prepare for any action because they all have consequences and even the girl you are doing this with wont be able to help you with......course would she stick around if they were bad ones? only you know that answer.
btw I don't have a twin but the story is also not totally untrue. .
We aren't talking about pot. I get the whys people may smoke it. However I do not understand why an adult would even consider doing mollys to begin with. Kids are dying or screwing themselves up on E and mollys everyday. It only takes one time for it to be your last time!
I am all too aware how recreational drugs are prevalent. My thought is just because you can doesn't mean you should. If an adult asks opinions and finds it judgmental and it drives them to shut down and do it anyway than there is a bigger problem than wanting to do drugs.
I will not hand hold someone wanting to do drugs after not for how long???? 10 years.
You aren't concerned about the end result than do whatever but maybe look at the why you want to do drugs in the first place at this stage in your life??? .
Bipolar is on most days complicated enough. Just sayin but do whatcha gotta do.
Done with this topic...
will they report you. I dought it. what would they report, lol so n so is only thinking about the possibilitys...
Now I suggest that if anyone wants to do meds that r not prescribed to me. I will kick them to curb so fast that their heads will spin.
Just because we're nuts doesn't mean that we half to be crazy.
One is too many and a thousand isn't enough.
Seems kind of goofy to spend time and money on prescription drugs and psychiatry to make your mood swings manageable, and then spend more money on mystery pills that will purposefully throw your brain all out of whack again.
"Tuesday Blues" are still just as nasty, aren't they? Either way, if you're going out to a club, put in some earplugs.
I've done mushrooms but those things grow in the ground and it was the perfect day to try it.
They're doing studies with MDMA and people with depression, btw. Saw a documentary about it. The people in the group who didn't get the placebo, who actually got the drug, made them feel better the following couple of weeks after the dose. Just FYI. But they weren't on Lithium.
I'm not all against drugs. If you do decide to try it, please just make sure you aren't nervous about anything, anything. But before you do think about it a while. Do a little research. Here's a good research website. Has everything you need to know.

Either way, take it or not, I hope everything goes well
