I think the best thing to do is look in the underwear section and see what the label says. It should tell you based on weight/height

needs a bigger size underwear because she's bigger , taller, more filled out and weighs 145 pounds and actually has hips. But I wouldn't know what size to tell him to get. My daughter only weighs around 100.

I'm a walking glacier and size 9 are too small for me. I'm a torrid big woman size 3 and have to order all my underwear online or in torrid stores.

I'm trying to get the hubby to get his daughter underwear that fit her. I look at the small underwear that i fold and set on his dresser for her to get when she comes over on the weekends and then I look at how big she is and think to myself-no way could she wear underwear that small! I could see her wearing four five underwear when she wore a 4/5 pant size and was smaller and they actually looked like they fit-but it has been a long time since he bought her any underwear.The step daughter was size 5 pants still wearing size 12 girls underwear until I threw them out and didn't tell anyone I did it until after they were gone. That's how bad the husband is with taking care of his kids needs.

IDK Princess, I think I am confused too. Not so much because of the whole size issue, but why you would throw out your SD's underwear and not buy her more or take care of her at the same time you take care of your own. Or, where is your SD's mother and why isnt she doing this?

As for the whole size thing, I think the Walmart lady was guessing. I wear a size 6 panties and a size 8 pants. I dont think pant size has as much to do with it as build does and the style you are looking at. I truely think you should take your daughter in and have her try them on. At her age she would probably appreciate picking out her own?

No wonder why I don't fit 9's. I have 48 inch hips and shouldn't even fit a size 10. I have a bottom too big for a 3X by just one inch. I am too small for 4X. Button 3 X jeans are too small but just my size stretchy non button 3X jeans are just right cuz they stretch. I'm in the outer edge of 3X undies being too small. But torrid size 3 is not like a 3 X. It is different. Because their sizes start at 0. And I outgrew their size 2.

Her mother makes hubby buy her clothes too so she doesn't have to do as much of the shopping and forces hubby to buy undies and socks and bras. Step daughter outgrew her bras and her mom refused to buy her some. When I threw out her size 12 undies I told hubby after they were gone-and then eventually he got her some more I guess she should be wearing a size 5 and he has size 4 undies for her according to her hip size. I can't even remember what her hip size was but it corresponded to a hanes size 5 and she has size 4 underwear. My daughter should be in 4's because her hip size is a 30. The lady at walmart gave me the wrong information. So next time I go back to return those underwear I will look for a size four. And you can't try on underwear around here-if you open the pack they make you pay for them. So the size 16's and 12's that my child has and loves I have to make her part with them because they no longer fit her. I knew when her pant size went up so would her underwear size-but I didn't know by how much.

Size hasn't ever mattered to me. If a garment fits and feels good I wear it; if it doesn't I don't. I'd say be glad she isn't asking for thongs. Gawd, little girls in thongs.

Sometimes it is a matter of finding the right brand~~sometimes sizing depends entirely on brand. Also the cut of the garment can make a difference.

As for bras, take her to a department store like Macy or Belk, or Dilliards. In the lingerie department they will have someone do a fitting for your daughter. You don't have to purchase anything there especially since she is growing.

I go for a bra fitting every time I buy bras . . .things move around, ya know?
