I just got out of the hospital for what seems like the millionth time. I had a mixed episode triggered by a medication change. Although I am feeling much better, I feel like I lost a month of my life, and I feel that I let down my family, yet again, and created a lot of havoc and turmoil.
Because I am the primary caregiver for my parents, my family had to pay people to be with my parents while I was sick, and it ended up costing a fortune. I feel guilty about that.
A family friend said she could hear my Mom slipping further and further into her own hole of depression the longer I was gone in the hospital. I feel bad for that too.
Hopefully with my meds newly adjusted, I will be better able to function and get on with life. I am definitely feeling more capable and productive with my new medication regime.
I know that it aways takes a while to re-adjust after the hospital, so I will give myself a little tenderness and time.

I'm feeling down,, and got alot on my mind right now. I got grief going on, on top my depression and anxiety and now I got to worry about somewhere to live since I can't afford living here since my mom passed. So many bad things have happened since my mom passed. One thing after another it seems. Yesterday our fence fell from a storm that hit, had to call someone to prop it up. Thank...
I hope things will start looking better for you and your meds will work correctly. All we can do is keep trying. Congrats on getting out of the hospital!
It's just that every time I am re-hospitalized, it reminds me just that one more dang time that I am not what society would call an able bodied person. Even though I dedicate my time and my life to making a beautiful home for my self and my two invalid parents, I feel judged. And that stinks.
What else stinks is that I know that even if My parents died or were cured, I could never go back to work at my chosen profession, nursing, which I loved dearly. I am still grieving that loss of job and independence that came in 2003.
I guess it all comes down to anger and frustration versus acceptance, and resolving that conflict within myself.
You are in NO way responsible in any way responsible for your mothers' depression Ayla ...It's an illness and you didn't give it to her .. So please don't take that on... Big hug...x
We can't dwell on it though. Lots of people are hindered by illness. It doesn't make them or us any less of a person.
You're dealing with what has been given to you in life. And you're handling it. This is a good thing!
